Physical Description of Persona:
E'kavas is a tall man: not particularly broad, but muscular and lean from a hard decade of fighting Thread. This is a man with hands that can sling firestone through the air but also gently tuck you in at night. He has all the scars to show of a life hard lived: threadscore burns, calloused hands, and general knicks and cuts of someone who hasn't been too careful around tools. He's had enough broken bones over the years that parts of him ache in the cold and ahead of approaching storms. He's showing his age early, with a little bit of salt peppering his curly black hair and beard, and there are hints of crows feet at the corners of his eyes. His bright hazel eyes may actually need reading glasses, but you won't catch him admitting it to anyone.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Calm and dedicated is the first impression most folks have of E'kavas. A bit of a workaholic. He's one of the first to rise and the last to bed, and can always be called on to pick up extra duties whenever it's needed and sometimes when it's not. He's quietly sociable; he generally likes to keep himself busy. He won't be the one to necessarily suggest an outing or ask someone to dance, but he's happy to go with the flow and join in with whatever is happening around him.

While he makes friends easily, he can count the number of romantic relationships he's had on one hand. Not to say that he's not a romantic (he is), but he's serious in his courtship and doesn't take matters of the heart lightly.

History of Persona:
Born in River Bluff Weyr when it was still a Weyrhold, his father was a bluerider that was also a fisher during the Interval. His family were almost exclusively fishers, from his mother who mended the nets and prepared the catches to his uncles and grandfather who manned the boats. Taking care of his father's dragon was a family chore that everyone participated in, and Elekavas grew up underfoot of the big blue beast. He himself Impressed at fourteen, about a turn after the clutches began to swell in size. It wasn't a matter of want for Elekavas, it was a matter of the Weyr's need and duty. Dragonets were being left on the Sands to die without their partners, and the whispers of what these sizes meant forced him out onto the Sands just as harshly as familial pressure. Luckily (or unluckily) he Impressed quickly, to what he thought was the most perfect brown of the bunch.

That image was dashed rather quickly. Roquath grew fast and E'kavas struggled to keep up. They scraped through weyrlinghood. He went back to fishing with his family until Thread was confirmed to be coming back, and tossed into the fighting wings without much aplomb. He settled down with his weyrmates, Rivia and bluerider J'nico. Rivia got pregnant with their first child. Their relationship was uncommon, but it was nice.

Until Thread fell and ruined everything. He was good enough of a rider to survive, at least, with only a few minor to moderate threadscores to show for it. His father died within the first turn of Thread falling. A sibling died a few turns later.

The earthquake in River Bluff Weyr devastated his family further. E'kavas and Roquath rushed to evacuate as many as he could. He found his children in the chaos, but not his weyrmates. To this day, he doesn't know how or why Rivia stayed behind. J'nico and Nolaith were recovering in the infirmary from a bad threadfall and weren't fit to fly. They tried to between out when the structure started to collapse, but never reappeared.

Part of him died too that day. He wouldn't have wanted to stay, even if the Weyr was fit to rebuild: he put in the transfer for Dragonsfall Weyr as soon as he was able. The kids were…less than enthused, and still grieving. It's been a rough few turns for all of them. E'kavas buried himself into his dragon and Threadfighting and his duties, lest it all resurface all over again.

Description of Dragon:
Roquath is a handsome brown, and shines like polished mahogany just after being oiled. He has a little bit of darker mottling along his shoulders and hindquarters, and a lighter splash of creamy klah-brown along his eyes and snout. He's large for a brown, nearly the size of a smaller bronze and sturdy. For all E'kavas is quiet and concerned, Roquath is gregarious and flirty: he chases greens whenever the opportunity arises, so to speak, and loves being among the pack. He's very rarely by himself, much to E'kavas' chagrin.

Pets

Peeve, Blue Firelizard: aged 9, hatched m5 d9
Originally the "family" firelizard that imprinted on E'kavas' weyrmate Revia, Peeve hasn't been far from E'kavas or the children since the earthquake, and happily followed the family to the colder climate of Dragonfall Weyr. A small navy blue flit, Peeve has a little lighter dappling along his back and wings. Peeve was well-trained and is naturally rather chill, content to lounge on the edge of a bed or near the most convenient heat source. He has endless patience for children, being raised amongst them himself, and takes being poked and prodded by tiny hands with grace.
