Physical Description of Persona:
Built like a herdbeast bull, and with all the subtlety of that same bull in a glassworker’s shop, G’zan’s physical presence is hard to ignore. He’s 6’4”, broad-shouldered and broad-chested, and puts deliberate work into maintaining a physique that he takes great pleasure in showing off, whether that be by not-so-secretly flexing and preening for a would-be lover as he washes his dragon, or just amusing the younger weyrbrats by demonstrating how many of them can hang on each arm before he can’t lift them anymore. More importantly, though, is the way he carries himself: like someone who is accustomed to taking up space and utterly unapologetic about it. He can certainly be a looming threat if he wants, but far more often he’s just a confident, warm, well-intended presence who nonetheless doesn’t always understand that not everyone is comfortable with having their personal bubbles invaded so casually.

Though his face bears no threadscore, he’s not without blemish: he bears the rough weathering of a lifetime spent outdoors without proper attentive care, summers where his fair skin suffered the endless cycle of burning and peeling, winters of dry skin and chapped lips, and many turns now of relishing the wind against his face. He only has a few lines of age, but those he does have are already beginning to etch themselves into the places where his frequent crooked grin has set them, at the corners of his eyes and mouth, and the squint of his cheeks. Long ago, a bottle smashed across his head left behind a scar above his right brow, and sliced off the very top sliver of his right ear; he tells this story with pride, though there’s not much to tell because he honestly doesn’t remember what the fight was even about in the first place. He’s proud of his threadscores, too, the largest of which is a mass of scar encompassing most of his left shoulder, creeping onto his back, chest, and upper arm.

He keeps his hair severely short on the back and sides, and a little longer on top, a style he’s kept for most of his adult life, mostly because he hates dealing with sweaty tangles underneath his helmet. He went grey early, and few traces of sandy-blond remain with each passing year as it slowly thins, too (a fact he chooses not to dwell on). His facial hair grows quickly, and its length varies depending on how recently he’s had the whim to shave it off, but most often it’s at some stage between unkempt stubble and a short, full beard. His blue eyes are as bright as ever, full of all the simple joy and enthusiasm for life promised by his wide, thin-lipped but genuine smile.

Emotional Description of Persona:
G’zan considers himself a simple man, and he’s not entirely wrong: he’s not particularly smart or thoughtful, definitely not a seeker of knowledge, and he’s as easy to please as a good canine, requiring only adequate socialization and adequate exercise (and, well, his dragon). Just like that same good canine, though, the “adequate exercise” part occasionally gets him in trouble: he’s rowdy, boisterous, and adrenaline-seeking, and it’s probably for the best that Threadfighting and dragon upkeep burn a lot of his excess energy, because otherwise he would probably get into a lot more trouble than he actually does. He loves things like cliff-diving and rock-climbing and exploring, and partying with friends, and even relishes a good brawl every now and again.

His near-perpetual good humor is well-known to his friends. Even when his temper flares hot, he doesn’t hold a grudge -- he’d rather just let it go and be laughing with you ten minutes later, which unfortunately doesn’t necessarily make the other person any more likely to forgive /him/. Why dwell on the bad, though, when there’s so much more good in life? As far as he’s concerned, he’s living his best life. The Weyr is the perfect place for him, and dragonriding the perfect profession. He can be himself without having to hide it. He has a lifemate who loves and accepts him exactly the way he is. He gets to flirt with danger every time the Weyr rises to meet Thread, and it leaves him feeling breathless and joyous and /alive/ every single time. The fact that people die, and that he could easily become one of those, isn’t lost on him -- he just chooses not to dwell on that.

He would just rather be happy. Is that so wrong? Maybe not, but he’s probably not the best judge of that, as his moral compass is a little on the loose side. He sometimes has trouble empathizing with those who don’t share his happy-go-lucky worldview, doesn’t really respect boundaries, and he can be casually deceitful without a second thought if it benefits him in the moment.

History of Persona:
Young Garzan’s childhood was one of chaos and uncertainty. He was only a toddler when his father, a habitual thief and smuggler, got caught one too many times and was made Holdless. He grew up semi-nomadic, sometimes traveling, sometimes holing up temporarily in Holdless encampments or in sympathetic Cotholds, sometimes living off the land, sometimes scrounging for honest work, sometimes stealing or engaging in a bit of outright banditry. Whatever it took to get by.

Needless to say, being Searched was a surprise to him. The news of booming clutches at the Weyrholds was so far removed from the concerns of the family’s everyday survival existence that Garzan had barely even taken note of it, let alone imagined being in the right place at the right time to catch a Searchdragon’s eye. Maybe the adaptability demanded of his previous life insulated him against the culture shock experienced by some of his Holdbred peers, because he took to the Weyr like a fish to water, seizing on the stability of three solid meals per day, a good routine, and yes, the Weyr’s “looser” morals, which allowed him to be /himself/ openly. Impressing green Panghuth suited him just fine.

He has remained at Dragonsfall Weyr ever since, through the return of Thread and into the new set of priorities that brought with it. He is a reliable Threadfighter, though his behavior record outside of ‘Fall is not entirely spotless.

Dragon's Name: Panghuth
Dragon's Age: 25
Dragon's Hatching Date: m1 d22
Dragon's Colour: Green
Next Mating Flight: m4 d12 of turn 13
Description of Dragon:
Panghuth is a tall, long green, built lean and ropy -- more like an awkward, if fit, farmboy than a graceful lady. Her hide is a bright grass-sprout green, evenly-colored throughout, and her muzzle is a bit sharper and more angular than most.

Luckily, Panghuth doesn’t care about looks, nor does she understand anyone who does. She is a serious- no-nonsense dragon with very little sense of humor, mostly concerned with duty, efficiency, and performance. Her laser-focus in Threadfall brings out the best in G’zan, keeping him steady and helping him funnel all of his energy and intensity into the task at hand.
