Physical Description of Persona:
Jaela is very short - only 4'10" - and extremely slender, although she has well developed muscles from her turns spent being a dragonrider. As a consequence she looks as though a puff of wind could blow her away. She has short-cropped black hair and dark hazel eyes that can go hard as steel when she is annoyed. The amount of time she spends out in the sun has left her with a deep tan.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Often rather softhearted, she tends to overcompensate for this, especially when dealing with Weyr business. Consequently she is often thought of as being quite strict. She is quite even-tempered and rarely holds grudges, although when she takes a dislike to someone it takes quite a lot to get her to change her opinion.

History of Persona:
Born at Topaz Sea Hold, she is the youngest fullblooded sister of Lord Holder Jaryd. Although her father refused to allow any of his children to be spoiled, she had somewhat more liberty while growing up than many girls did. She put this to good use, learning as much as she could from anyone who was willing to teach her.

She always expected to be married off to some holder or other, and she was rather taken aback when she was sent to Dolphin Cove Weyr instead. Initially disconcerted by many aspects of weyrlife, it took her some time to adjust to her new home. Once she did, however, she quickly came to the conclusion that she'd never want to live in a hold ever again - the greater freedom of women in the weyr in particular appealed to her.

Standing for the hatching of 1190 at Thayan Peak Weyrhold, she was astonished when, rather than a green, the little gold sought her out. The joy of impressing Calyth was tempered by the deaths of the three dragonettes who found no lifemate.

Having found her true vocation in life, Jaela was truly happy until 1195, when tragedy struck: Her weyrmate, R'vesan, was killed in the earthquake that destroyed Thayan Peak. Deeply upset, Jaela threw herself into the reopening of Dolphin Cove Weyr, in the hope that hard work would distract her from her pain.

She recently moved to Dragonsfall Weyr to take over the position of Weyrwoman's Second.

Description of Dragon:
Calyth is slightly larger than average, but in spite of that she has a surprisingly dainty build. Her hide is quite a bright gold, with no irregularities of colour. Normally calm, almost placid, she is affectionate and occasionally excitable. She loves a good joke, but would never dream of instigating one herself - well, _almost_ never.

Vahri, Brown Firelizard: aged 16, hatched m11 d28
Vahri is a very independent-minded flit. He tends to vanish for candlemarks at a time, though never for more than a day. In spite of this, he is very loyal to Jaela, and always comes when she calls.
