Physical Description of Persona:
Jessalyn or Jessa as she's usually called is tiny only about 5'2 and is slender with curves. Her hair is wavy and reaches her waist when loose, it is a rich chocolate brown. Her face is pretty, even delicate looking with clear, fair skin and deep set hazel eyes.

Jessa has a very good sense of style and tends to have a knack for knowing which colours, styles and fabrics will flatter her. She is also practical so she knows what to where, when.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Jessa is a steady, practical person. Her nickname is affectionately 'little lady' for she is polite, courteous, fair and soft spoken much like lady. Filled with common sense, a good dosing of honesty and an even temperment she's hard not to dislike.

She rarely ever raises her voice or makes a fuss and she doesn't need too. Her calm, gentle nature, her honesty, her dedication to her what she does and her tough spirit gain her listeners and gets people to pay attention.

But if she has a downside it's come from the hard knocks and breaks her heart has had to take over the turns. Too many times she's had to deal with a broken heart and mend it it has created a sarcastic, ironic streak and a general low tolerance for men. She will still be courteous and polite, but she'll take a while to warm up to men. She tends to be one of these women who's always making bad jokes or complaining about men.

Also not many know this but she used to have a terrible fear of /between/. Only her dragon's love and encouragement and her own determination enabled her to best most of it. Some of it still lingers though.

History of Persona:
Jessa was the middle of three daughters born to weyrmated couple: a bluerider and a foster mother in the Lower Caverns at River Bluff Weyr. Raised as a weyrbrat, with the comings and goings of various foster siblings her childhood was the usual ordered chaos.

A fairly practical child she knew that despite being raised in the Weyr and despite having a father for a dragonrider she wasn't necessarily going to Impress. So at a young age she did her best not to pin all her hopes and dreams on Impressing. At a young age she began helping out in the Weyr creche as much as possible, finding that she liked being around small children and they her.

Following this interest when she grew old enough Jessa chose to follow the rare opportunity living in a Weyr gave to apprentice. She chose the healing craft for she wished to help the sick and injured and found it rewarding. So at 12 turns of age with her parents blessing she applied and was accepted under the Weyrhealer.

Her appreticeship started off well and she found she excelled in her classes. While she liked some areas more then others she found that she didn't have a particular interest so spread herself out to be training in everything.

In her 17th turn she meet her first love, Gris, a holdbred Candidate. Although it wasn't her first fling or first sexual relationship he was her first real love. While she'd never before thought of standing for Impression she thought she'd give it a go.

Sadly her first experience on the Hatching sands left her dragonless. While she didn't Impress, Gris Impressed a bronze and pretty quickly left her and their relationship behind: she found herself pregnant and brokenhearted. But he left her behind with an 18th birthday present: the birth of her daughter Risa.

With the support of her family Jessa took time off from her studies to raise her daughter through her first turn and a half and to recover from her bad experiences. At the end of the turn and a half Jesy's mother Tisa offered to foster Risa and Jessa gladly agreed. She made sure she saw her daughter in every spare moment she had.

Jessa was going to return to her last few turns of study and graduate to get her journeyman knots but a clutch of eggs hardening on the sands gave her another idea. At 20 she was still within the age grouping for a Candidate and new determination meant she wasn't letting her past failure get to her.

She chose to stand again and was surprised when the third egg to hatch revealed a large jade and emerald green who came straight for her and claimed her. Jessa was now Jessa the dragonrider and she couldn't be more proud of herself. Her time during Weyrlinghood was pretty straight forward and progressed fairly well.

The only major problem Jessa had was getting over her fear of /between/. But with Kyreth's support and encouragement and the Weyrlingmaster's help she was able to over come most of her fear. But she hasn't gotten over all of it, even today she still has her moments when her old fear tweaks at her.

But Kyreth and Jesy graduated with the rest of their class and became full dragonriders. For the first turn or so Jessa reveled in the unique freedom of being a dragonrider in a fighting wing. But with no Thread falling Jessa began to get a little bored.

Jessa meet her next lover, R'eyce, a turn or so later. Although the relationship was fairly short the pairing produced Jessa's son Jestin when his brown caught Kyreth in a mating flight.

Once again a relationship left Jessa broken hearted and pregnant but once again with the support of her family she was able to pull herself together and carry on. Although she couldn't raise her son herself, being a dragonrider, her sister Tessi offered to foster Jestin and Jessa agreed. She sees him whenever she can and as with her daughter, spends every spare moment with him. Her father, J'ray and his dragon were killed during this time during a drill. Their tragic deaths shocked the whole family.

Jessa went back to her work, finding it a little easier knowing that R'eyce had transferred out. Wanting to return to her healing roots and combine it with her love of dragons she decided to try dragonhealing.

After some lengthy chats with the Weyr dragonhealer Jessa was accepted for training and began training to be a dragonhealer. Although the kind of healing she was now training to do was different to her original training she reveled in it. It was here she also meet her weyrmate M'hen. M'hen was just finishing his dragonhealer training when Jesy started and the pair started off as friends, then became lovers and finally Weyrmates when his brown, Briaceth, caught Kyreth in a mating flight. Their son Jehen was also a result of the mating flight. Complications during his birth meant he would be Jessa's last child; yet another moment of grief. But Jessa and M'hen took comfort in their son and Jessa in her two other children. Once again Jessa's sister Tessi fostered the little boy with the same arrangements as before. Only whenever they could the weyrmated pair brought all three children to stay with them in their weyr.

Jessa worked hard at her training, she has found her new duties rewarding. She was very proud when her eldest daughter Impressed a green of her own at 15.

At the age of thirty three, Jessa earned her Jr. Journeyman knots, a proud and happy moment that was, unfortunately, followed by another heartbreak only two months later. M'hen, her Weyrmate of ten turns, was killed in Threadfall. She suffered greatly from his passing, but the support of her family and especially that of her children and dragon helped keep her from tipping over into the shadows of despair.

Almost two turns have passed since that fateful day. Now Jessa carries on with her duties, throwing herself more into her work

Description of Dragon:
Kyreth is a fairly large green, probably one of the larger greens size wise in the Weyr with a slightly longer wingspan. But she's built along lean, slender lines and is well proportioned. Her hide is a deep warm shade of jade green with darker green markings in most places but her under belly, under her wings and her sails are a light emerald green.

In terms of her personality in many ways Kyreth is a good match for Jesy. She's patient and practical, and very friendly, if courteous, even polite when dealing with other dragons, especially ones with rank. She has a certain soothing, calm quality about her that help her rider and even other dragons to relax around her and to listen to her.

But unlike her rider tends to be very vain, even fussy about being clean and looking good. She's also more playful and light hearted, even a flirt; she is particuarly fond of browns. She likes to joke around and tease her rider, her mate and her friends among the dragons. She also likes the company of her rider's children.

Cloud, Brown Firelizard: aged 25, hatched m6 d1
Cloud is a large, sturdy brown flit. His colour is a light creamy brown with a patch of pale milky brown on his back.

His personality is fairly lazy and laid back, he loves anything sweet.

Emer, Green Firelizard: aged 12, hatched m12 d5
Emer is a medium sized flit but is on the slender side. Her hide is a bright uniform shade of emerald that got her her name.

Emer is a very neat and tidy, even fussy. She will only eat certain types of food. She's also a little vain and likes to be oiled so she looks her best.
