Persona Profile: Shayla (Inactive)

Writer: Dana

Name: Shayla
Age: 27
Birthday: m5 d5
Rank: Wingrider, Rapids Wing
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr

Physical Description of Persona:
Shayla is 5' 6", of medium build, and she is 130 lb. Not one whom the boys would call a classic beauty, Shayla is nevertheless an attractive girl. Her nose is a little too long and sharp for her round face, but one tends to forget such trivial features like noses when they look into those big, dark brown eyes of hers that are framed with long lashes. Shayla's only vanity is her wavy auburn hair that falls to her mid-back.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Shayla has always been known for her kindness towards everyone and her positive outlook on life. She is an expressive girl who makes friends quite easily. She has a good sense of humor, though she is hardly ever sarcastic.

Impressing Kiranth was the first step in helping the shy girl start to come into her own and not be so dependent on others. Old habits--especially those that have been ingrained in southern, holdbred girls since birth--are hard to shake though, and Shayla's one dependency comes in the form of her weyrmate, T'voal.

History of Persona:
Shayla was born into a small holder family on the southern continent. All her life, she had loved runnerbeasts and was taught how to ride by her oldest brother when she was young (much to her mother's dismay!). Her other childhood joys, besides runnerbeasts, were swimming in the warm ocean, and sketching images she saw, such as runnerbeasts, children, nature, and those she saw in her imagination--her most secret desires, such as becoming a dragonrider, so she could escape from the society she was born into and live her life without so many restrictions that seemed to build upon her every Turn she got older.

Even though she harbored such a longing, she never let herself dwell upon it for long, and instead concentrated on her reality--what her mother expected of her--by learning all there was to know about how to cook and care for housing, children, and the like. Shayla had at last contented herself with the certain fate of being the wife of a holder and was so surprised--and delighted!--to be Searched for a dragon's clutch.

Dragon's Name: Kiranth
Dragon's Age: 10
Dragon's Hatching Date: m3 d20
Dragon's Colour: Green
Description of Dragon:
Kiranth is a rich, apple-green color, and is perhaps more delicate and petite than some of the other green dragons of the Weyr. Though she is young yet, she holds the promise to be more of an agile sprinter than one capable of longer endurance. Kiranth is sweet-tempered and encourages Shayla in everything that she pursues. As the months pass, Kiranth is starting to become a bit more strong-willed about things, and at times will take the initiative, which never ceases to surprise and amaze Shayla.

Pets

Tay, Green Firelizard: aged 11, hatched m3 d21
Tay is a dark-green, fine-boned flit who Shayla Impressed by chance when she was out on the beach. Tay is not as demanding as others of her kind, and adores Shayla, and not only because she feeds her! Tay can either be found perched on Shayla's shoulder or playing with the other flits of the Weyr.
