Persona Profile: Milroy

(Inactive)

Name: Milroy
Age: 36
Birthday: m9 d21
Rank: Hold Resident
Location: Amber Hills Hold
Job: Son of Benaroy

Physical Description of Persona:
Of all Benaroy's children, Milroy is the one who looks most like his father, with his pointy chin, long pointed nose, height and broad shoulders. However, he has his mother's brown eyes and light brown hair. His hair is wavy, and shoulder length, often pulled back away from his face. Milroy is not the type of person one would describe as attractive, rather he is more "distinguished" in his appearance. He has a flamboyant personality, and dresses in colors that catch people's attention, like reds, blues and greens. He doesn't dress in particularly expensive clothes, though, as he does spend a lot of time working outdoors helping with the animals and crops. Recently he has been seen helping the local Vintners, as he does have a taste for wine...

Milroy speaks with a commanding baritone, and has difficulty modulating his volume. This is perhaps due to turns of having to yell to get attention over his myriad siblings. He also talks a lot, even if he's the only one around to talk to. Milroy's stride is confident, although he walks a bit fast making it hard for people to follow him. He takes pride in his collection of belt knives, and is rarely seen without one.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Being a middle child, Milroy is the perfect negotiator. At an early age, he learned two vital skills: convincing people he should be able to tag along after his older siblings, and blaming his younger siblings for things he had done. In order tom avoid getting in trouble, Milroy learned important bargaining skills early on. He now uses these skills to benefit his Hold.

Milroy is known for his ability to communicate, and likes being around people. He is known for being intelligent, eloquent, and witty. He is also known for being superficial and occasionally inconsistent. He does have a mild ego problem, and does many things to bring attention to himself. This problem gets far worse when couple with his second major vice: alcohol. Milroy is hardly addicted to the substance, but does imbibe of it frequently, and his eloquence quickly gives way to obnoxiousness once he has had a few. As a result, at formal functions his family monitors his drinking carefully to ensure he doesn't do anything to embarrass them. Again.

Milroy likes a lot of things. In fact, there are very few things he does not like. Most would figure this to be a good thing, but these people obviously haven't sat around waiting for Milroy to decide what he wishes to wear, or which belt knife he'd like to purchase. This was also hardly advantageous when it came time to pick a wife, as Milroy likes almost all women about equally. Abrigi happened to be one of the more attractive of his likes, and even-tempered as well. However, there are those about the Hold that doubt this espousing will last Milroy quite easily becomes emotionally attached to people, and demands a lot of attention from his loves. If Abrigi isn't up to fulfilling Milroy's needs, he might have a lapse in morals

Milroy is very energetic and lively, in an almost childlike manner. He rarely walks anywhere, preferring to run. But he also likes simple pleasures like lying out in a field looking at the sky. He does not mind hard work, and will eagerly help anywhere he is needed around the Hold. One of his goals in life is to learn everything he can about the Hold, so he can do anything that needs to be done.

Adding to his childish mannerisms, Milroy has a problem making moral decisions, which in no way helps him with fidelity. He also has slight issues with honesty. He really doesn't like being yelled at. Lying is often a good way to assure he doesn't get yelled at. As of present, he has been true to Abrigi, but even he himself doubts that will last

Milroy believes that life is a game, and that not only should *he* win it, but that it should be constantly entertaining as well. Fortunately, he is entertained easily, so until now there haven't been too many issues.

History of Persona:
Milroy is the second son and is the second of eight children of Lord Benaroy and his third wife, Nimile. His father had his seven half-siblings with his second wife, Anley, who died four turns before he was born. He also had a half-sister he never met, Aroley, who died five months after her birth. He was born eighteen turns after the Plague that devestated Amber Hills Hold. He was about thirteen when his youngest sister was born. Nimile died about two turns later, having never quite recovered from Royani's birth. His older half-sister Benley died six turns ago after a kidney infection.

Early in his life, Milroy had many siblings to contend with for attention, in addition to the Holders, the Steward, etc. Thusly he was a loud child, quickly realizing that thost who were slow and quiet were likely to be left behind. He had many friends as a youth, and liked causing mischief. He was generally the "leader of the pack" so to speak, when it came to him and his friends.

At the age of 12 turns, it was arranged that Milroy would foster at Topaz Sea Hold for several turns. Milroy was not overly proficient in any craft useful for his Hold. It was important for the boy to see more than one perspective on running a Hold. He returned to Amber Hills with a love of dolphins, and a sadness over his inability to join the dolphincraft.

At some point post-puberty, Milroy realized that simply espousing would hardly suit him, and he was a playboy for a good while. This caused many rumors about the Hold concerning Milroy's ability to impregnate as no heir was produced of these encounters.

At the age of 24 turns he met Abrigi once more. He had known her previously, but at the time she was a gawky girl of 11 turns. He was initially only attracted to her for her appearance, but he soon became emotionally connected to her. His siblings pointed out the woman had many traits that would make her a good wife (albeit a boring wife), and the fact that she was the related to Topaz's Lord Holder didn't hurt matters at all. So Milroy reluctantly decided to settle down with her.

The Hold was astonished when Abrigi got pregnant; and not just with one baby, but twins. Milroy strutted around the Hold with pride. His pride was soon tempered with grief, for Abrigi could not survive the birth of his sons. Though he hadn't thought he was in love with Abrigi, although he did have a fondness for her, and he fell into despair at having never told her how much she meant to him when she was alive.

Though he was present in his son's lives, he was a shadow of his former self. He longed for the Lord Holder nod when his father died, but his inconsistency made him a poor candidate for the rank. He was thrown into despair once more, but gradually managed to pull himself out of it. Now he's searching for a place in life, and cautiously looking for another wife.
