18

Rank: Junior Weyrling
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Physical Description of Persona:
H'nari is moderate in height, average in build. He has a large nose which seems mismatched to his strikingly pretty cheekbones. His eyes are pale green, and his skin is fair with a smattering of freckles. His hair is sandy blonde and cut short , but always seems to be sticking up because he runs his hands through it constantly.
Emotional Description of Persona:
H'nari is cheerful and is always up for a good gossip or a new adventure with his friends. He loves to be the center of attention, or at least have a good share of it on himself. Sometimes when socializing, he has a tendency to exaggerate, embellish, or outright fib things because he gets carried away telling a story. He can be stubborn at times and dig in his heels and refuse to change his mind or overlook things that he doesn't want to believe, and occasionally has sharp flares of temper. He’s used to his social position in the relatively small Woodcraft Hall community and is not prepared to just be an Average Person with no real connections in a Big Weyr.
History of Persona:
Zhachiyan was born the second son of a minor Holder in Thayan Peak territory. His older brother was slated to inherit, but Zhachiyan always loved working with his hands and being in nature. He wanted to be a Woodcrafter and his family had the money to send him for Hall training, rather than amateur apprenticeship to a local carpenter. So it was that he apprenticed to the Woodcraft Hall in Amethyst Cliff territory. The rhythms of that Craft’s training meant he spent alternating sevendays in the logging camps and sevendays in the Hall to learn. He found he enjoyed working in the logging camps more than he enjoyed life inside the Hall, and so knew he intended to spend his time out there. But shortly after becoming a Journeyman, one of the Hall’s kitchen girls confessed her attraction to him, saying she’d be happy with a man who was gone a long time. So he wedded her.
Hanaris was born on one of his father’s trips home to the Hall. Because her husband was a full Journeyman, Narise had a small apartment better than she would have had as a drudge, and she raised her son simply but with love. He grew up respecting his father whenever the man came home, but not understanding the solitary, serious, dedicated man. Five Turns after his birth, he acquired a younger brother. Risechi is quiet and thoughtful like his father, the opposite of gregarious Hanaris who was friends with many of his age cohort, so the two were never close.
The earthquake at Amethyst Cliff caused the migration of the Hall to a new set of buildings in the Amber Hills Hold region. Fortunately, nobody in his family was harmed, and moving to a new place led to some new people joining the Hall’s population, so Hanaris saw it as a chance to make new friends. He never wanted to apprentice to the Craft, knowing that he didn’t have the patience to focus on the meticulous work it demanded, so he worked as Hall support staff just like his mother.
A Searchdragon visiting the Hall was an occasional sight, but while some of his friends got the call, Hanaris was never looked at by one of the dragons. He vaguely knew he had a dragonrider uncle but he never dreamed of them himself. He was content with his simple life, not aspiring to reach for anything higher. Not until he was unexpectedly Searched for Galgaith’s second clutch. His mother told him to stay behind and cried at the idea, but it was his father who was the one who encouraged him to go. “Try it for a bit and see, lad,” he said, and so Hanaris went forth into a very strange, very big, new environment. At least he can make new friends, he figures.
On day 25 of month 6 of Turn 13, Hanaris Impressed to bronze Zayenth, becoming H’nari. Now he gets to figure out what being a dragonrider means.

Dragon's Name: Zayenth
Dragon's Age: 0
Dragon's Hatching Date: m6 d25
Dragon's Hatching Place: Dragonsfall Weyr
Dragon's Colour: Bronze
Description of Dragon:
Zayenth is the color of rich gold worn by reverent touch until the sleeker, darker metal beneath came through; a warm, sunlit bronze with softer green undertone shimmering in low light. When hatched, Zayenth starts off small for his color. By the time he grows up, he is going to fall into the middle of the bronze size range.
During weyrlinghood, Zayenth is going to be like a playful kitten, full of a curious desire to learn the world around him, mixed with the short-term memory and lack of impulse control that will lead him into immediately acting on whatever comes into his head. Zayenth likes to know things, to do things, and to be doing things with his friends. There are bronze dragons who care about their status as _bronze_ and being perceived as mature and dignified by others, and so would never risk looking silly, doing something wrong, or getting into trouble. Not Zayenth, who doesn’t understand what makes him any different than a blue clutchmate. He’d rather try something out immediately, even if he gets it wrong and fails, or winds up looking foolish. As far as he’s concerned, the worst thing in the world isn’t failure - it’s missing out. (Or being alone.)
