Physical Description of Persona:
Barenziah has long, fiery red hair accompanied with fair skin and pale blue eyes. Like most people with fair skin, she freckles after long periods in the sun so she does whatever necessary to keep her skin covered when she is outside. Tall and willowy, 5'9", Barenziah's father always told her that she would be too tall for any man to consider her attractive. It must have been true since she has never found a suitable match for marriage.

As a lady-in-waiting Barenziah is always impeccably dressed so as to represent her lady well. With a fiery mane of hair, however, Barenziah often has to be careful with the color palette of her clothing and choose mute blues and soft browns.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Barenziah has always been frank and to the point, probably another reason why she has never married. She is strong-willed and just as fiery as her hair. She knows the proper etiquette and behavior of a lady, and will act appropriately, but she
may be muttering a few choice words beneath her breath. Intelligent and quick-witted, Barenziah's tongue is sometimes sharper than what she actually intends. She does have a good, sarcastic sense of humor, and is fiercely protective of those things that belong to her. Barenziah is not someone easy manipulated or bullied.

History of Persona:
Barenziah was born to a Master Beastcrafter named Bathemue and his docile wife Maylia. Their dream of a son came true shortly after Barenziah's birth and the pair grew up inseparable. Barenziah learned a lot of unlady-like ways from her brother Rynthian as they grew up. How to ride a runner like a man, how to throw knives, climb trees, and he even taught her some of the hand-to-hand combat he had learned from some of the guards. Barenziah loved being able to do whatever her brother did... until her parents reigned her in.

By age thirteen Barenziah was reigned in by her docile, but firm mother and forced to learn how to be a young lady. Dresses became the norm for Barenziah, along with etiquette lessons and general "women" things like sewing. Although she found the work tedious and dull, Barenziah discovered a side of her mother that she had never seen before. The docile Mayliah actually had a razor-sharp sense of humor and taught Barenziah everything she knew as they sat together and
sewed lace onto their dresses.

Despite her mother's hard work, Barenziah simply couldn't simper and primp the way the other girls did, and she refused to throw herself at any male, no matter how good looking or rich he was. If that was what it took to secure a marriage then she would rather live alone! Bathemue, of course, was less than pleased by his daughter's attitude, but he had a soft spot for the fiery redheaded child and did not push for an arranged marriage, despite his right to do so.

Instead Barenziah began training to be one of the Lady Holder's ladies-in-waiting. With her cunning wit and varied set of skills, thanks to her brother, Barenziah was considered a good choice for a companion for a lady. It was with this resume that Barenziah was approached by Royan and asked to accompany Faldrimme as she moved to Hidden Meadows. As a parting gift Barenziah's father was able to procure a firelizard egg for his daughter which contained a gold firelizard.

When the time came to leave for Hidden Meadows the trip was delayed by the kidnapping of Amber Hill's Lady Benani. Once the Lady was returned, Barenziah was asked by Lord Zathris to personally attend to his wife while she recovered from her traumatic experience. While caring for Benani, Barenziah found herself spending copious amounts of time with Lord Zathris, and they even shared a loved for hand-to-hand sparring, which they practiced together in secret. Over time their friendship blossomed into something much deeper, and Barenziah found herself in love with a married man. For one glorious, but short, month Barenziah and Zathris carried out a passionate affair, but eventually Zathris's guilt consumed him and he was unable to continue and so he asked Barenziah to leave Amber Hills.

Heartbroken and sufficiently ruined from any sort of marriage prospects in her future, Barenziah was taken to Dolphin Cove Weyr by Zathris's brownrider brother Z'lred. After acclimating to the Weyr a bit, Barenziah was accepted by the Weyr's Master Healer Pachem as an Apprentice Healer.

Chiffon is as delicate as her name sounds at least in appearance. Her hide is a brilliant gold in color with darker honey hues beneath her wingsails and tail. In personality, however, the little queen is just as defiant and sassy as her Friend.
