Physical Description of Persona:
U'val was taller in his youth, but age and time have worn away some of his stature and posture. Thick silver hair is kept cut close to his head, a good foil for the dark blue eyes that are surrounded by smile lines.

His skin is tanned and leathery, tribute to over 60 turns spent more often out of doors than in. Although he's still spry enough, at 76 turns of age, U'val is finally starting to slow down, finally agreeing to fly in the retirment wing.

Emotional Description of Persona:
U'val is a steady and calm man, one who never looses his temper. Growing up as Dragonfall's most experienced mind-healer, turns of listening to other people's problems has given him a sense of how lucky his life has been, and never a day goes by when he doesn't express his gratitude in some way. Although he makes friends easily enough, he's starting to spend more and more time alone, as the youth and energy of the newer riders starts to make him feel a little old and outdated.

History of Persona:
Born to a rider father at Dragonsfall Weyrhold, Uyval had little choice in the path of his life. His mother, an experienced mind-healer, began training him far before the normal apprentice age, the only break in his intense training being at sixteen, when a trip to the sands rewarded him with tiny blue Lyolth.

A dragonrider in a time where Thread did not fall, it was important for U'val to have a craft--and luckily, the one forced upon him by his mother was one he excelled at.

When U'val was forty-five, two of his closest friends among the healers had their first child, and U'val became her favorite uncle almost at once. Abrei was a precocious girl and overly stubborn, but listened to her uncle U'val more often than not--especially after her mother died and her father returned to Healer Hall when she was eighteen.

Although U'val tried to guide Abrei, he could not stop her from closing herself off, choosing the unlikely role of victim. Nevertheless, he followed here when she transferred to River Bluff Weyr.

When Thread returned, U'val found to his regret that his reflexes--and more importantly, his joints--weren't what they had been. As an irate Abrei bandaged his upper arm--a score which could have killed had it been a little higher--he made her the promise that he wouldn't fly with the fighting wings.
