Persona Profile: I'zari

Writer: Steel

Name: I'zari
Pronunciation: Eye-zah-ree
Age: 26
Birthday: m10 d23
Birthplace: Thayan Peak Weyrhold
Rank: Wingrider, Lightning Wing
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr

Physical Description of Persona:
I'zari is fair skinned, with dusty ash-blond hair that he keeps neatly trimmed short. There's almost always a quiet smile ready on his features, and his hands are almost never still, always fidgeting or gesturing alongside whatever he's saying. His eyes are a light blue-grey colour, and there's a healing dusting of scars around them and across his cheeks.

He’s lean and wiry, with the muscular physique common to dragonriders, and he stands on the taller side.

Emotional Description of Persona:
I'zari is friendly, and prefers to be around others rather than off by himself. He tends to believe the best in others, and prefers to avoid outright conflict, though he'll put his foot down if he thinks someone is too harsh.

He's not a loud individual, nor is he particularly pushy or hasty. When it's available, he prefers time to consider multiple angles before committing to a major decision. I'zari can be prone to overthinking, sometimes to his own detriment.

If he thinks someone else is feeling lonely or excluded, he'll happily engage with them, and try to find out what might help.

Most recently he's been-- perhaps understandably-- a little quieter and more withdrawn, though he's still making an effort.

History of Persona:
Inazari was born at Thayan Peak to a greenrider mother, and he was raised in and out of the creche, with a dragonrider mother who, while busy, nonetheless always made time for him. He was almost never the leader in any creche shenanigans, but he wasn’t a loner or outcast either, and enjoyed playing with his friends.

He doesn’t remember Thayan Peak, not really. Just that it was scary, and they had to leave all at once. He was only five Turns old when the disaster occurred, and he happened to be with his mother, making it easy for both of them to escape.

They then settled at Dolphin Cove, becoming some of the founding members.

Inazari stood for every Dolphin Cove clutch from the moment he became old enough, and every time he came away without a dragon of his own.

That was, until Turn 1's Hatching, when Miokuth came his way, bursting from his shell and prancing eagerly for I'zari.

Weyrlinghood, and then becoming a dragonrider, passed uneventfully, the pair serving reliably and well.

And then, on month 2 of turn 13, disaster struck. One moment of complacency, one moment of dropping his guard. I’zari had paused, just for a moment, to tug off his goggles and wipe away sweat, and a particularly unexpected wind swirl scored his face with char.

Blinded, they retreated to the Weyr. Except even as I’zari’s injuries started to heal… his sight just didn’t return.

After being released from the Healers, I’zari accepted retirement, transferring out of Rapids Wing.

Dragon's Name: Miokuth
Dragon's Age: 12
Dragon's Hatching Date: m7 d11
Dragon's Hatching Place: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Dragon's Colour: Blue
Description of Dragon:
Miokuth is small for a blue, only barely rivalling the largest of greens. His build is slight, lean and wiry rather than a bulky build. His hide is largely a pale frosty-blue. There is darker mottling along the edges of his wings as well as darker hind feet, and patches around his eyes, giving him a goggled look.

Under ordinary circumstances, Miokuth is an affable sort of blue, friendly and sociable much like his rider. He enjoys attention, and being around others, as well as showing off for the occasional green.

Since his rider’s injury, Miokuth has gotten a little more anxious and prone to fretting, and he prefers his rider’s company to anything else.
