Physical Description of Persona:
D'narion is tall, lean, every inch the romantic ideal of a man stepping straight from the romances of the Printer Hall. There's even something elegant about him, something poised as if the Smithcraft and harpers chiseled him from stone themselves. He has a casual, familiar air about him that's lacking in most holdborn kids newish to the Weyr. He moves like a man that is utterly confident in himself and his surroundings; with an effortless, careless grace of a man who knows that he simply _belongs_.
His skin is a warm brown with undertones of gold, and he carries himself with a sculpted poise that gives him a slightly older appearance than his Turns suggest. His hair is dark and neatly cropped, though prone to curls in humidity, and his features favor his mother; high cheekbones, expressive brows, and intense, thoughtful eyes the color of polished klah bark. Calloused hands and burn-scars on his knuckles and hands mark his turns in the glasscraft hall, the careless marks of a young apprentice with no respect for fire.
Emotional Description of Persona:
D'narion carries himself like a man who knows exactly how good he looks in the lamplight. Calm and elegant on the surface, he has the measured grace of someone who’s been watching the world his whole life and has learned exactly where to touch it to make it tilt. Polite to a fault in public, D'narion knows how to turn on the charm when it serves him. He's all flashing smiles, well-timed glances, even an occasional quip. There’s a low-voiced confidence to him, easy to mistake for aloofness, until he turns it on you and you suddenly remember how close you’re standing.
He’s no stranger to scandal, though most of his have remained quiet and secret. His romantic and physical preferences are broad, his tastes refined, and his ability to maintain discretion legendary. He has no interest in being tied down, and perhaps because of that, people seem all too happy to try. Most of his trysts happen behind closed doors and in shadowed hallways. But make no mistake, D'narion is more than a pretty face and a practiced tongue. Beneath the seduction lies a sharp, observant mind and a fiercely independent person. He feels deeply, trusts slowly, and guards his own heart with the same precision he uses in the smithy.
History of Persona:
Born the youngest twin by minutes, D'narion was one of a pair born to bluerider D'norix and his then-weyrmate, a woman from Garnet Valley Hold. The relationship itself ran it's course as Weyr relationships do, and their mother chose to return to her home hold to raise the children among her own family and support system. That their crying and behavioural issues mysteriously stopped overnight was noted but brushed off, explained away by the change in surroundings. They weren't wrong.
The separation itself was amicable and D'norix visited as often as he could, sometimes bringing his latest relationship with him. The twins grew up with no shortage of family, and it was in one of those visits with their father and his blue Saeruth that it was discovered they could hear Saeruth without any effort, just like their father. It was decided that they would remain at the hold until they were older, and that they would be welcome back to the Weyr to Stand if they so chose.
Neither of them did, however. Both opted to apprentice at the local Smithcraft Hall, specializing in glassblowing. D'narion showed a particular aptitude for the precision it required, and took particular pleasure in making the little pieces requisitioned from the Technician Hall.
Their casual, easy relationship with their father changed when Saeruth died. D'narion was fifteen at the time. D’norix, shattered, withdrew from his sons and from almost everything else. D'narion didn’t speak of it much, but letters came less and less, and eventually stopped. He never did present for Search. Perhaps he wasn’t present when Searchdragons came by. Perhaps he simply said no. He did not see the need to rush off to the Weyr when his blossoming sexuality revealed itself, and he quickly became quite the expert at discretion. It didn't help that his dalliances were as varied as they were scandalous-- his reputation of a rake happened to hide the more vulgar of his trysts.
At twenty, he applied to transfer to Barrier Lake Weyr, to work with the technicians in maintaining the electrical station, crafting the little specialized pieces they need to keep it running. But he couldn't deny that dragons were in his blood, and he presented himself as a candidate shortly after Imbeth's Flight.

Dragon's Name: Rusaeth
Dragon's Age: 0
Dragon's Hatching Date: m8 d20
Dragon's Colour: Brown
Description of Dragon:
Stocky and powerful, Rusaeth hatched with the heavyset, square-shouldered frame more commonly seen in bronze dragonets, his proportions already hinting at the formidable presence he'll grow into. For now, though, he is undeniably "adorable" in the way that only weyrfolk can see, with much of his egg's nutrients going into substantial baby fat that will eventually grow into muscle. His hide is a rich, warm brown, mottled subtly with dark mahogany along his spine and haunches. His wings are broad and slightly short, enough that he may initially struggle to get the lift needed to take off before he hits that final growth spurt. There's a bluntness to his features-- broad muzzle, thick neck, and stout limbs that give him a compact and overall silly look when he's small. He'll be a solid presence when he's older. Maybe.
Rusaeth was not looking for someone just like him, nor was he looking to drastically change his new rider. Rusaeth is calm and grounded, the textbook definition of brown dragon stereotypes. He tempers his rider's strategic charm with quiet loyalty and steadfast support. He speaks with a low, even tone, and much prefers to be slow and steady instead of quick and flighty. To his rider's chagrin, he will not show much interest in mating flights and win even fewer. Rusaeth isn’t easily ruffled; he meets problems head-on, prefers actions over words, and doesn’t see the point in dancing around things that need saying. But beneath his stubborn, sometimes blunt exterior is a deeply perceptive dragon who sees more than he lets on. He trusts D’narion implicitly, and while he may not always understand the nuances of human social games, he always has a sense of when to stand firm and when to offer gentle reassurance. Rusaeth grounds D’narion in the present, not to pull him down, but to keep him anchored when his rider's heart starts drifting too far from safety.
And when D’narion falters, Rusaeth is there to remind him, simply and firmly: I chose you. That is enough.
