Physical Description of Persona:
Q'vettan has the kind of effortless charm that makes him immediately likeable, with an easy smile and expressive, deep-set eyes that always seem to be reading into a conversation more than he lets on. He is a tall man, with broad shoulders and long, sweeping strides. He has the natural grace of a harper that can alternate between commanding attention or blending into the background as the situation calls for it, and he has a natural understanding of body language that makes him infuriatingly good at reading a room.
His dark, curly hair is usually kept just long enough to frame his face, slightly tousled in a way that suggests he never bothers to tame it entirely. There's more than a few streaks of silver in it now and some wrinkles at the corner of his eyes, and that only adds to his charm. His skin is warm and brown, darker still from the turns spent in the Igen plains.
There's a quiet sharpness in his gaze, an intelligence that never quite fades even when he's playing the fool in a crowd. His voice - deep, rich, and slightly rough around the edges-- commands attention when he speaks.
Emotional Description of Persona:
Q'vettan presents as a modest, easygoing man. His reputation preceded him when he first arrived at Barrier Lake, but in the turns since he's become a welcome fixture in the Weyr. It is easy to forget that he is accomplished in his own right, and that is entirely a facade of his own making.
He has a harper's natural charisma and sharp wit with a bronzerider's ambition. He is a master of persuasion; he understands the power of stories, how they shape perceptions and histories, and he wields this knowledge like a weapon. He is deeply dedicated to the Weyrs and their stories, the legacy of the dragonriders and their continued protection of Pern. These stories can be used to shape the Weyr's (and his) influence. There is an agenda to the way he builds relationships; he can be generous with his praise, and he's genuinely good at making people feel seen and valued, but there's always an undercurrent of calculation behind his warmth.
Despite his charm, Q’vettan is not a man to be crossed. He holds grudges like a dragon holds fire, and those who betray his trust-- or worse, humiliate him -- soon learn that he does not forgive easily. He is prideful, with a deep-seated belief in his own brilliance, and he does not take criticism well, especially from those he deems beneath him. His temper, though often masked behind a veneer of amusement, can be explosive when provoked, and his vengeance is rarely direct.
To those who earn his loyalty, Q’vettan can be fiercely protective. He respects strength, intellect, and the ability to see the world as he does. He has little patience for idealists or those who fail to recognize the reality of power. His relationships, both personal and professional, are often transactional, built on mutual benefit rather than genuine affection. That said, when he does care, he does so intensely, in a way that can be both intoxicating and dangerous.
History of Persona:
Nobody took young Q'vettan seriously, when he was a tiny twelve turn old with an equally small, gangly bronze. No one took him seriously when he tried to bask in the greatness of being the one bronze of the clutch, the one new bronze in the days before regular Search and frequent clutches. And no one took him seriously when he chased after the older, louder, better weyrling, nor when he opted to apprentice with Dragonfall's harpers when Tzenketh was grown. Sure, his parents patted him on the back and gave him all sorts of congratulations, but he wasn't seeking their approval. As any child, he sought the approval from his friends and classmates and crechemates. He thought, maybe, that Impressing might make him stand out amongst the many. That ambition carried with him throughout his harper training. He walked the tables quickly, despite his gap for weyrling training and the extra duties that came with caring for a young dragon. He mellowed out, somewhat, when he went on his harper circuits, eased along by a dragon that could bring him instantly anywhere he needed to go. He was a passable musician and good enough with the youngsters to teach classes, but his strength lay in settling disputes.
As the clutches grew and the number of empty spaces in the Weyrs grew smaller, Q'vettan saw an opportunity to help. He supported the conversations of the Weyrholders and Lords in reestablishing the land rights of the old Weyrs. He was one of many that worked tirelessly to ensure that the transfers to Dream's End, Windswept Islands, and Rising Moons were as fast and seamless as possible. This culminated into Q'vettan being instrumental in negotiations with Igen Hold that re-established the first of the Northern Weyrs. It was from his position as Weyrharper of Igen Weyr that Q'vettan supported the opening of the other Northern Weyrs in rapid succession, and it was his part of these negotiations that granted him his mastery.
In the turns since the Pass began, Q'vettan has worn many hats at his time in Igen. He vacated his position of Weyrharper to become a wingsecond and eventually wingleader, and even did a few stints as Igen's Weyrleader. In turn 9, upon losing the Weyrleader flight, he accepted a transfer to the newly opened Barrier Lake Weyr as their new Weyrharper.

Dragon's Name: Tzenketh
Dragon's Age: 40
Dragon's Hatching Date: m12 d20
Dragon's Colour: Bronze
Description of Dragon:
Tzenketh is a uniformly bright, greenish-bronze, which Q'vettan describes as statuesque but in reality is easily mistaken as a massive green to the untrained eye. He's a little on the smaller side for a bronze, which certainly doesn't help, and built lithe and lean instead of thick and burly. There isn't much variation to his colour, aside from the rippling burns of threadscores speckling his frame.
For a dragon as decorated as he, Tzenketh has an infuriating lack of ambition. He doesn't have the same drive nor sense of urgency as Q'vettan does, and would much prefer to take his time and bask in the curiosities around him. Q'vettan says Tzenketh likes to smell the flowers, but he also likes to watch the sun rise. And nudge a rock. And inspect the ground beneath his feet. This slow, almost philosophical consideration used to drive Q'vettan up the wall; now it's more a pleasant hum in the back of his mind, more comforting than annoying.
