Physical Description of Persona:
Zaverin’s face was handsome and full of light until the death of his dragon. In the Turns since then, his expression and features have become more gaunt and haunted. His dark hair has grown out in a disheveled manner that he only marginally tames when he’s working in the infirmary. His brown eyes are somber, and often dull, lacking their previous warmth and life.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Zaverin is quiet and withdrawn. As a healer, he is attentive and smart with a soft spoken bedside manner. Still, most dragonriders find their interactions with him uncomfortable, purely because he is a reminder of what could happen.

History of Persona:

Zaverin, once Z’vin, is a weyrbred man who spent most of his life at Windswept Islands. When he was twenty-one he impressed to a bronze dragon, Euvimeth. They were a hard-working pair and over the Turns they worked their way from a lower altitude Wing to the high altitude Weyrleader’s Wing. They even had their eyes set on the Wingsecond position, and hopefully Wingleader after that, when tragedy struck.

In an early morning Threadfall at Windswept Islands, they collided with another pair as rough winds tossed them about. Zaverin can still remember the sickening crunch of Euvimeth’s wing, and then the plummet through the skies before they landed on the gold that was supposed to catch them. The catch was far from perfect and Zaverin was knocked unconscious while sustaining broken ribs and a punctured lung.

In panic and pain, Euvimeth /betweened/ shortly after Zaverin’s limp body was cut from his riding straps.

When Zaverin came to he found himself in an overwhelming pit of isolation. The absence of his lifemate in his heart and mind broke him.

Only by pursuing the craft he’d had before Impressing did Zaverin manage to make himself functional as a human being once more. When he heard of Barrier Lake’s opening, of the new Weyrwoman crowned, he transferred there to work in the healer infirmary.

Once at BLW, Zaverin pursued his course of vengeance against Kapera, blaming her for the death of his dragon. During the Completion Ceremony, he caught her alone in her weyr and stabbed her, causing Riyanth to panic and between. Pummeled nearly to death by bronzerider J'nus, Zaverin later died from an overdose of fellis, given to him by Jeyme - the greenrider who loved him.
