Jeyme

"I had heard you were back," Jeyme said with a smile when she spotted
T'nom down by the water. Quinneth was wallowing in the hot, scorching
sand above the tideline.

T'nom looked up at the voice. He recognized the green rider. "Hey,
Jeyme. How are you doing? Care to join me here in the shallows?"
T'nom, was resting in the shallow waters, letting the waves gently
wash over him. It was soothing and refreshing and one of the things he
had missed about Dolphin Cove.

The greenrider pulled her bathing suit cover-up over her head and left
it up on the dry section of beach. "Sounds great, it's warmer today
than I had anticipated." The Wingthird splashed down through the surf
and then sank down to her knees once she got to where T'nom was, "I
feel like I haven't had time to just enjoy the water in a while," she
admitted.

"You and me both," T'nom replied, "It's one of the things I missed
most about being here at Dolphin Cove. It's nice to be back and able
to enjoy the water anytime." He swished his hands in the wave that
reached his chest. "I could lay around here all afternoon."

"How is your little one doing? Kazom, right?" Jeyme asked, thinking
that she remembered that correctly.

"He's well, thanks for asking," T'nom splashed his hands as a wave
moved in. It wasn't large, just enough to reach his chest where he was
lying. "It will be nice to actually be closer to him, but things there
are," he paused and shrugged, "complicated too. So, how have you
been?"

"I've been good. I spent a few Turns at Far Island, had another baby,
a daughter this time, and then when I came back to Dolphin Cove I took
the wingthird position in Rapids." Jeyme was really satisfied with
where she was in her life at the moment. "Why are things here
complicated?" she asked curiously.

T'nom looked at Jeyme for a minute, before deciding it would help to
share with someone who might understand. "Not sure what all you know
about the past when I was here. I mean, we knew each other, but
weren't overly close, you and I." He stopped and puffed out air,
"Mainly that's because I got caught up in a love triangle of sorts."
He shrugged, "that's long over now, but since I sort of _lost_ myself
in the process, I also lost touch with Pierka and Kazom a bit. Pierka
moved on and Z'ku has helped raise Kazom. I'm grateful really, but the
boy doesn't know I'm his father. He calls Z'ku da. I _think_ Pierka
has forgiven me for the mess of things. I needed some time to clear my
head and find peace with myself and who I really am now." T'nom
shrugged, "Sorry, probably more than you wanted to hear, but it was
nice to tell someone." He hardly ever talked about all that transpired
during that time to anyone anymore.

The greenrider waved her hand, dismissing his apology. "I understand.
I didn't have the exact same situation as you, but I undersand how
complicated things can get when you share a child with someone whose
no longer a part of your life." She thought about D'hol and how even
when they'd been weyrmated she'd known his heart truly lied with
Cyradis. "Kazom may know Z'ku as his 'da' right now, but he can get to
know you, too. He won't remember much from this age as he grows,
anyway. You still have time."

"Good advice. Thanks for that Jeyme. I think I needed to hear that. I
knew the transition back might be a bit rough, but in the end it will
all be worth it. I'm happy to be home again. _And_ to bask in the
sunshine and warm waters here. _So_ worth it!" He sighed a bit as the
water washed over them again.

"I can't imagine moving to a cold Weyr when the weather here is nearly
perfect all Turn." Jeyme dipped her head back, letting her hair get
wet and then smoothing it back from her face.

"It wasn't all _that_ bad, but I missed it here." He grinned as he
watched her play in the water. He may have sworn off relationships,
but that didn't mean he didn't notice the way the water glistened
through her hair and down her back. "You know what I missed the most?"
He pushed up on his elbow, "seeing who could make the biggest splash!"
He took his hands and splashed water in her direction.

Jeyme took a face full of water at the unexpected splash, but she
merely laughed as she ducked her head and turned sideways to fling
some water back in T'nom's direction. "Tread carefully, bronzerider, I
don't play fairly," she teased.

"Who does?" he chuckled. It was nice to just relax and enjoy the
playful banter. "Care to see who can reach that rock first?" He asked,
pointing to one a short distance out in the surf.

"Sure," Jeyme agreed, but there was a sneaky look in her eyes.

At her confirmation, T'nom was up and off racing into the water until
it was chest high.

The greenrider had other plans, however, and rather than making for
the rock, she darted through the water and then flung herself on
T'nom's back her arms wrapping around his neck.

When she first landed on him, he went under the waves. Immediately
T'nom rolled, pushing his head back above water. Realizing Jeyme had
also been pulled under when he rolled her grabbed her and made sure
she was also above the water. He coughed and chuckled a bit once both
of them were above water. T'nom floated a bit on his back, his hands
still resting on her smooth sides. "You win," he chuckled. "I didn't
expect that." **Or how smooth your skin feels to the touch,** he
thought. He could feel that their closeness, with few barriers between
them, was enough to make his desire grow. It _had_ been awhile since
he'd found release. He hadn't wanted to explore too deeply at Dolphin
Cove until he knew for certain where no strings were attached.

Jeyme laughed but didn't make any attempt to move away from the
bronzerider. "In my head, I saw me pouncing you underneath the water
and moving _ahead_ of you to beat you to the rock." She didn't think
she was mistaken about seeing interest in his hazel eyes so she
wrapped her legs around his waist, letting him float them along. "But
this is nice, too."

T'nom suppressed a groan. His body was clearly reacting to hers. She
wouldn't be able to mistake it with the way she was positioned.
"Jeyme," he started, "I don't need things complicated."

"Hey, I listened to what you said earlier, I know things are already
complicated for you, and I don't need any more complications either."
Her fingers combed through the hair at the nape of his neck. "But some
stress relief would be nice, wouldn't it?"

He sighed, releasing the tension he felt, allowing his body to react
to her touch. "I think, Jeyme, that may be the _best_ thing I have
heard all day." T'nom had slowly paddled them almost to back to shore.
He could feel the sand beneath his back. "Some stress relief would be
a _very_ welcome thing."

A flutter of excitement stole through her stomach. T'nom was a good
looking man, and one that had no strings attached, something she
hadn't had in a long while. "Your place or mine?"

He chuckled. "Yours. Let's go."
