Taren followed quickly, mounting the green with surprising agility.

There was bit confusion first since he couldn't spot any outward

injuries, no Scoring.

"My stomach," Aileyan whimpered.

Taren noted how she was curled around her belly. Touching her neck, he

felt she was burning with fever.

"Could be appendicitis, take her to the infirmary and prepare for surgery!"

Back in the air the Dragonsfall riders were in the thick of it, ashes

and smoke swirled about them as they wove together, working in

conditioned units to combat the falling Thread. Devyn was nearly

reaching the end of the first wave, when she would be called back to

the Weyr to send out another wave, when Ellyth's wingsail was pierced

with a wriggling silver spore. Ducking /between/ and back into the

air, Devyn squinted and could make out the faint signs of ichor on her

green's wingtip.

}:A scratch, nothing more. It is time for the first wave to go back,

let's go.:{ Ellyth informed her, even as Devyn's shoulder slumped in

relief as they went back to the Weyr.

R'axe and Jayth, on the otherhand, were still out in the thick of the

Threadfall, filling in the missing gap in their Wing formation where

one of the smaller browns had been scored and sent back to the Weyr.

G'nir was keeping a count in his head, who was in and who was out.

Nirreth kept supplying him with reports.

A blue nearly missed a clump of Thread, and though his flame lit it on

fire, small flaming pieces fell downwards. Ladrith rose up to flame

the remainders, and bellowed when hot char hit him.

**Damn!** C'lar thought in frustration. Burns from stuff your

wingmates missed was just embarrassing.

Ma'din and Aznith swerved away from the char with a voluble curse. }:

Watch out, shaffit! Watch out where your flame goes! :{

Rorela hissed in mild pain as a narrow piece of Thread attached itself

to her shoulder. She and Upinth blinked /between/ and were back in the

fight within moments. She'd had worse and they needed her here more

than she was needed in the infirmary.

D'ale called a new formation to counter the sudden gust that had blown

in across the wings. The blues and greens were going to have to fight

harder to stay in the air and that would tire them sooner. This 'Fall

couldn't be over soon enough.

M'shan's hand met the bottom of the sack. **Call for more firestone,

we're out,** he told Juth who was quick to reach up to call in a

senior weyrling. **Save the flame,** he warned.

Nirreth relyed the information from U'pinth that Rorela had gotten a

light hit. G'nir just stored the fact to his memory. While they were

in the air, there was no room for personal feelings.

When the 'all clear' call came, R'axe slumped in his riding straps,

and thumped Jayth's hide, **Good work today.**

The blue took the compliment in stride as the Wings began /betweening/

together, back to the safety of the Weyr.
