T'nom

T'nom

Meledei had requested Elleth pass along the message to T'nom to come
see her. She had no idea how long it would actually take him to come
see her. After all, he'd pretty much taken his time with Pierka, so
why did she really think he'd come see her? They were supposedly a
couple, but perhaps T'nom obviously had other thoughts.

When the knock finally came on the door, she was in the middle of a
glass of a cup of tea. She called out for T'nom to enter, then
motioned for him to sit in the chair opposite of where she was perched
upon the sofa. She didn't say a word. Just waited, taking tiny sips
of her tea from time to time.

He'd received the summons and made his way towards her weyr as soon as
he was free to do so. He had an idea what this could be about, but at
the same time, he wasn't really sure what she would know about the
full scale of the Flight with Pierka. Clearly she would_know_ it

happened, but he didn't really expect her to know any further details.

When he entered, he noted right away her posture and gesture. He
sighed. Clearly she was upset by the events of the day.

He took the seat and waited. When she didn't speak, he finally broke
the ice. "So, you asked me to come?" He wanted her to tell him what
she was thinking rather than trying to guess.

"Yes." Meledei peered at him from over the rim of her teacup. "I was
hoping you'd be open and honest with me." It upset her that he wasn't.
It angered her. He'd done the same thing that F'gol had done.

He was rather taken aback by her comment and his body language showed
it. "What?" He asked incredulously. He told himself to take a deep
breath before he exploded. She was accusing him of not being honest
and that set his blood to boiling. Yet, he didn't even know what the
issue was at the moment.

"What_exactly_ are you accusing me of?" He asked, trying to keep his

head on his shoulders even while inside he wanted to scream.

Meledei set down her cup. Inside, she seethed, but somehow, outwardly
she managed to remain calm. "Pierka, T'nom. And no, I don't mean the
flight. I mean what happened when the flight was_over_."

"And what exactly do you think happened when the flight was over?" He
asked, his tone growing more unfriendly with her accusations even as
he added to himself, **And how exactly do you even_know_ what
happened after the flight?**

"Like I said, I was hoping you'd be open and honest, but I guess I'm
not worth even that." Disappointment tinged her voice even as her
anger did not. That she managed to hold in check. Meledei shook her
head. "I don't think I know. Dragons talk, T'nom."

"Meledei, you're going to_have_ to be more clear. I don't understand

what has you so upset. Taldeth won Pierka's flight, which you know,
but yet your saying that that's_not_ what has you upset. Well, then,

I have no idea what has you so upset. What did the dragons tell you
that makes you question_my_ honor and integrity." T'nom was

frustrated by not knowing what was going on in her mind and her
continued accusations that he was hiding something from her. He'd
_been_ honest with her. Told of her of the kiss in the infirmary, and
he knew she knew of the Flight. What was it that she felt he was
hiding?

"The fact that you decided to enjoy Pierka again even though the
flight was over. That's what I'm talking about, T'nom. Not the
flight, but what happened_after_." Meledei had to struggle to

contain her anger. Already it began to well in her throat and she
just barely managed to keep it out of her voice.

"Ookay..." he started drawing out the word a bit as he tried to gather
his own feelings so as not to lose control of the situation. He was
confused by how she even_knew_ what had transpired with them

following the flight. Taldeth hadn't expressed to him that he had been
sharing news with the whole Weyr. "It was a_flight_. I've_always_
spent extra time with my flight companions especially because the
flight lust has always still been strong." He paused, frowning. She was

upset because he'd stayed with Pierka, but in his mind it was all
connected to the flight itself. Sure, he had enjoyed it, but it was
still_part_ of the flight experience. "What would you have had me do?
Just leave?"

"Basically, yes." Meledei held the bronzerider's gaze steady. "I
mean, it's one thing to spend some time with those whose dragons yours
has caught. It's okay to be nice and all. I understand that. Prefer
it. Encourage it. But to actually engage in sexual activity
afterward? After the flight is over? That's different."

He let out a frustrated sigh, "Clearly we have different ideas on what
is and isn't part of the Flight. It's not like I went to her weyr and
crawled into her bed! Shards, Meledei you make it sound like I
purposefully went to her, sought her out, slept with her, and then
tried to_hide_ it from you. I've_tried_ shard it, to do everything

you asked of me. In your eyes all you see is the man who betrayed you
before. You won't even give me a chance. You_don't_ trust me. I don't

think you ever have and now you accuse me of dishonesty and cheating
on you." He_was_ frustrated now. "Yet it's_you_ that seems to be

changing the rules at each turn. I do what you ask, but it's not
_good_ enough. Then there are more stipulations, more rules put on
this relationship between us. We had discussed flights. This was all
part of a flight. Yet, now you say_I'm_ the one whose been dishonest

with you over it. I don't think so. I think you need to learn to trust
and until you do, this," he motioned between them, "between us is
over. I can't spend my time with someone who_doesn't_ and_can't_

trust me to make the right decisions as an adult."

He rose. "I_do_ still care about you, but you have made this
relationship difficult from the start by imposing your own_rules_ on

it rather than allowing it to be a mutual decision and discussion
between us. If you ever learn to trust that someone else_does_ care

about you even if there are other things happening, then come find me.
Until then, I'm done with these accusations and your need to_spy_ on
my every action so you can accuse me of things that are_not_ true."

His eyes showed their anger and a hint of sadness over the way things
had gone between them, but his heart knew that she had never trusted
him. He couldn't stay in a relationship that was built on such a lack
of trust.

T'nom turned and made his way to the exit of her weyr. Looking back he
added quietly. "I'm sorry it's come to this."

It was the last straw. With his words, the final thread that kept her
temper at bay was torn, the next thing she knew, Meledei was in
between T'nom and the door, her palm making contact with his face. She
had less success with her words as they flew from her lips to verbally
batter at him.

"You have NO idea! None! When a flight is over, it's over. You
don't do more beyond that, that's not part of the flight! You don't
have control during a flight, but you had control then!" Her eyes
flashed and those hands clenched into fists. How she wanted to lift
them and let them fly, but she was, at least, successful in that much.
"Rules? I said I wanted to be in an exclusive relationship, T'nom.
I told you from the get go! I gave you the choice and you said, you
_said_ you'd chosen me. But it's obvious you don't know what you want,
because you can't seem to decide if you want to kiss her or kiss me.

Well obviously, you've decided. You can't be exclusive. You know
what? If you had simply come and told me that, I would have said
fine, we can't have a romantic relationship, but I still want to be
friends. But now, you've gone behind my back and had sex with someone
outside of a flight and don't say it wasn't, you were in control, you
made a choice and you know it. I did_not_ spy on you. I simply was

surprised at how long the flight took and Elleth queried of her own
free will. Ask her yourself if you want! I did not ask her to do
such thing, but she did and you know what, it's probably a good thing
because while I trust you, she found out that you couldn't be trusted.
And no, you're not making adult decisions, T'nom. You're not
thinking with your brain, you're thinking with your libido. I've only
accused you of one thing an it was this very thing. I even forgave
you when you admitted about the kiss! I've never_ever_ questioned

you before now and yes, this is outside of a flight so stop trying to
pretend it wasn't. Just think, if it had been me, if N'vanik or R'enh
or Z'ku had won this flight, what would_you_ have felt if I stayed

after and decided to have sex with them even though the flight was
over? Don't even try, don't even_try_ to say you'd be fine with it

because I know good and well you wouldn't have been. Well, you know
what, you don't have to worry about that any more and now Pierka's
going to be happy because you're free, T'nom. Goodbye, good riddance.
Say another word, and I'll have Elleth eat you." She turned the nope
and flung open the door, fire dancing within that normally placid
green gaze.

His eyes flashed with pure anger at her slap and her words. She was
the one being childish and selfish, not him. She'd questioned his
every move and motive since their entire relationship had begun and
_she_ surely wasn't going to be the one to satisfy the remains of his
flightlust as she'd made it_perfectly_ clear to him oh so many times.

"Good riddance to you too, Meledei. Where once there was a friendship,
you've now turned it into something far worse. Maybe someday you'll
learn to_trust_ the people around you, for whatever you say that is
the_root_ of_your_ problem. Enjoy your life," he snarled, glad he'd
learned of her petty, selfish side now before he_had_ committed to

her completely.

He pushed her aside as he stormed out the door knowing that not only
had their relationship ended, but so had any trace of a friendship
between them.

"I _did_ trust you!" Meledei spat out, and there was no way he
couldn't hear her the way her voice bounced off the walls. "I trusted
you and you betrayed it, twice!! You're no better than he is! At
least the first time you admitted it, but you didn't want to this
time. The problem is, you can't be trusted! I pity any woman who
falls for you!" Then before he had a chance to throw back a retort,
the walls echoed with the slam of her door.
