Description: More of Relik's personnel begins to arrive at the Hall.
Location: Seacraft Hall
Date: month 3, day 6 of Turn 7
Notes: Mentioned: Korkary
Relik made sure it was all hands on deck. Everyone wouldn't arrive at
once, but now that they had enough housing, some of his staff was going
to be moved in. Most would arrive by boat, but some were coming overland
and he needed to make sure they were all prepared. He had good reports
from Aini and Kaphrad had the rosters of the seacrafters they were expecting.
Hopefully Korkary could manage the incoming people and supplies at the docks.
Stepping outside his office, he walked down there to see who
was coming in the first ship.
"Ah, Master Relik." Aini was already there, though she hadn't been
there for long. She inclined her head in a respectful manner to the
Hallmaster before she turned her eyes to the ship as it eased into the
docks. She couldn't see Korkary, but she knew he was there,
somewhere, working hard.
The trip from Sunstone to seacraft hall was so much shorter than the
one who had taken them to Sunstone Hold. Uegot had to admit he was
eager to start working. Two months of free between jobs was enough.
The time at Sunstone had been nice. It was a large Hold compared to
what Nerylyn knew the Seacraft Hall was like so far. They weren't
terribly far from the Hold, of course, but still, once she got the
brood of children settled at the Hall, she didn't plan to make the
constant trip back and forth.
Kaphrad stepped up next to Relik and nodded. "Hallmaster. Good day for
the first ship to arrive."
"We're here," Uegot turned to his wife. "And will be staying for a
long while, I hope," he hold out his hand to help her.
Nerylyn smiled to him, taking his hand. "Let's go see what our new
life will bring for us. Children," she stated firmly, turning to look
at them. "Partner up like we discussed, stay behind us. The Hall is
not yet complete and that means you mustn't stray. We could hurt
ourselves or one of the workers if we get in the way." Nerylyn
waited for them all to respond with a nod, before she walked with Uegot
off the ship to their new home. Once more, she wondered if she'd ever
be able to practice her own skills again, but such was the way things
went. She knew she could be of assistance with her technician
training, but alas women were not permitted to do that in this area.
They stepped to the pier and approached the waiting welcoming committee.
"Hallmaster? I'm journeyman Uegot and this is my wife Nerylyn."
"Welcome to our new Hall. We're still in the stages of getting everything ready,
but we've invited some of our personnel to go ahead and begin work. This
is my Headwoman, Aini. She can assist you and your family in getting
settled. And Kaphrad here is my Second." Relik put a hand on Uegot's shoulder in welcome
then stood back as more people were making their way past, nodding to them. "We'll
probably start speaking with people tomorrow about duties and tasks and the like once
everyone has a chance to get in."
Aini eyed those who arrived. She offered a smile to the children and
their mother and nodded as Uegot made his introduction and Relik, in
turn, introduced her. "I already have assignments for quarters so if
you will please come see me I will be more than happy to show you
where you'll be staying."
"Headwoman," Uegot nodded at her. "Come on, you lot," he said to the
children with a glance backwards.
Nerylyn walked with her husband and the children, eager to see what
their quarters would be like at this new place. As they walked so
spoke to the Headwoman, "Headwoman, if you need assistance with
anything, please let me know. While I may appear to have my hands
full with the children, trust me that I can still be of assistance
in whatever way you may need."
"How have you arranged the harpering lessons for the children?" Uegot asked.
While Aini was handling all of that, Relik was watching more folk come down.
It felt good to have able bodied folk coming to craft and live in his hall. They would
make this place into a good training center for seamen on the southern
continent.
Aini nodded to the husband and wife, then to the Hallmaster. "I'll be
but a few moments." She motioned for them to follow, then turned so she
could guide them to their rooms. "Thank you for the offer." Came the
reply to Nerylyn. "I will certainly put everyone to work."
