X'ian knew it was time. Time to have a good and long talk with E'ril. They
had kind of agreeted to it soon after his Impression. Being junior weyrling
had then given the holdbred healer a perfect reason to push it out of his
mind. Now he wasn't junior weyrling any longer and the weyrling ban has
been lifted on his class. Watching some of his clutchmate hurry up to make
up for the forced celibacy had made him very uncomfortable. He needed to
adress his issue, and soon.

**Camyth, ask Dawenth if I can talk with his rider?** X'ian asked.

}: Will do, just a sec, :{ Camyth replied.

Upon receiving the message from Dawenth, E'ril strolled down to X'ian's
room. He had been doing some hidework but a call from one of his charges
took precedence. Knocking on the door frame and spotting the weyrling
across the way he called out, "He wanted to speak with me, X'ian?"

"Yes, please get in," X'ian replied.

Entering the room, he scanned it for roommates. E'ril found the room to be
empty and couldn't help but think this was well timed. Settling near X'ian
he said his common friendly tone, "So, what's up?"

"Eh, we need to talk...about being a bluerider," X'ian said and actually
blushed.

"Ah...right. Well, how are you feeling about things now that there's no
more restrictions?" He remembered vaguely the conversation they had back
when X'ian had impressed. E'ril hoped time and
training had put the weyrling more at ease.

"It's actually harder now. Before I had valid excuse to avoid the whole
thing, not to think about it," X'ian poured himself wine and asked if E'ril
wanted too. Maybe it would be easier to talk if he was slightly drunk.

E'ril accepted the glass of wine but drank slowly. "Is it just lack of
experience that has you nervous about it? You must know by now that
whatever and whoever you choose is accepted in this place. You will never
be condemned for who you are."

"Not the lack of experience...I've been with a woman. With my fiancee,"
X'ian confessed. "So, nobody would mind if I stick to women only?" he
wanted to be clear he understood. He emptied his glass and refilled it.

"Not at all. Besides, it's none of their business who you bring into bed
anyway. Just don't feel ashamed or anything like it if you do have feelings
for a man or even participate in a male greenrider flight." Sometimes E'ril
just wished getting his weyrlings to believe the words was as easy as him
saying them.

"I do get attracted to men too," X'ian admitted, thinking the greenrider
from the beach, Ch'din. It was probably first time he admitted it out
aloud.

"Well there you have it then and far as I can tell you're just same old
X'ian," E'ril gave a smile and finished off his wine. "Feeling any better
about being a proud bluerider now?"

"Don't know about _better_, but relieved anyway...and bit buzzed," X'ian
replied and grinned with flash of humour.

This fact made E'ril chuckle. The boy had managed to down two glasses of
wine during their discussion. "Nothing wrong with that as long as you don't
have any duties coming up. It's a good life we riders
life if you can look past the impending doom and rigorous hardwork," he
joked. Speaking with his weyrlings like common wingriders was an important
part of integrating them into a fighting wing.

"I do hope I will able to continue with my craft too," X'ian said.

"Once you get settled into your wing and life becomes more routine then I
don't see why not. Obviously it will be slow going as your other duties
come first. Crafting sort of becomes more of a hobby," E'ril explained.

X'ian just nodded at his words. Of course fighting Thread would come
first.

"Of course," E'ril went on, "You already know that. We taught you kids
right. You'll be fine."

"So you did," X'ian said with respect. "So kind of you to take time to
listen my worries."
He was bit formal time to time and the wine seemed to bring it out even
more.

E'ril saw that now may be the time to leave. He kept from laughing
thankfully. Maybe he would track down some of X'ian's classmates so they
could enjoy the wine together. "Uh huh. Of course. Well X'ian you seem to
have everything figured out now. I've got work to do but maybe you should
find some classmates and have a fun night?"

"Maybe," X'ian said.

Clapping the young man on the shoulder E'ril simply said, "I'll leave you
to it then."
