Z'al hated to have to return to the place he hae spent one long month , but knew that he had no choice. He walked in and with a quick glance saw that his usual healer was currently busy. He stopped the first healer he found, "I'm supposed to get a check up."
"Well, aren't you lucky that I'm a healer," Pacham smiled as he turned to face the dragonrider. "Who are you supposed to have your check up with?"
"Well I was supposed to see Jozia, but it looks like he is busy. I'm sure he would not mind if you helped me." He smiled a crooked smile. His new scar puckered and gave him the look of winking.
Pacham smiled. "Well, I should hope not. The Weyrhealer _should_ know a thing or two about threadscores."
"Yes but Jozia ha a tendency toward protecting his friends and feeling better doing it himself." Z'al smiled as he followed the healer over.
"I've only been away from the infirmary for about a sevenday. He wanted to make sure the infection I had in this area here is intirly gone and that it isn't going to come back." He pointed to the scoring under his left eye.
"Don't worry, rider. I can handle Jozia," Pacham smiled. "Why don't you have a seat."
"Not a proublem." Z'al took a set and wahted patiently. HE was the easygoing type so it didn't bother him who did his check up. He just hoped everything was fine. He didn't want to have to move back into the infurmary. "All right then," the healer said as he tilted the riders face a bit to give him a better view. "Have you experienced any pain in the area recently?"
"No only a stretch tightness. I figured that was from the healing."
"Oh sure," Pacham nodded. "It probably itches too, eh? Do you have any salve for it?"
Z'al took the small jar out and handed it to him. "This is what I have."
"Have you been applying it twice a day?" the healer asked as he took the jar, opened it and smelled the contents.
"Yes sir."
"You might need to apply it a little bit more often. It seems to be a bit dry around the edges which will add to the discomfort. Maybe after every meal."
"Alrigth, I can do that." He smiled.
"Well, well, it seems you are coming along quite nicely!" the Weyrhealer grinned.
"Thank you. I'm just glad that infection isn't coming back."
"Don't worry, young man. I think we are out of the dark on that score."
Z'al chuckled, "I'm glad of that. I thank you for your time. I will get back to work then."
"Good luck, Z'al. Drop by any time."
