The first thing that hit G'wen when they emerged from /between/ was
the heat. He and N'klar had just left a Weyr that was snowing and
here it had to be 90 degrees, at least. The second thing as they came
into land was the amount of flesh on view. Great, this was going to
be just as embarrassing as that trip to Dolphin Cove! When he
dropped his eyes down, the third thing he noticed was an unfamiliar
queen.

}:Ohhh! Look!:{ squealed Neath, as she caught sight of Orlaith at the
same time.

**Go look at the pretty queen, you sad little gold groupie!** he
teased her as he slid down her shoulder and undid her straps. **Just
don't be too obnoxious.** Putting the straps down and his flight gear
on top of them, he went over to stand beside N'klar, feeling quite shy
with all the unfamiliar faces about.

Orlaith was surveying her domain and enjoying the sun on her gleaming
hide. Her large presence was hard to ignore and it made good on her promise.
Her dragons knew she was there and that she didn't leave them. After the
whole mess with Traelyn she had only left the Weyr a few times.

Rhosyn was in the middle of the Bowl, near the lake. The Weyrwoman was
stretching out her muscles, continuing her usual trend of running around in
short shorts and a halter top. It was too hot for anything else. She eyed the
water, thinking about a way to get even cooler on the restday.

New riders arrived overhead and Falzeth trumpeted a greeting. **Oh
knock it off.** }:But she's pretty!:{ D'arvn snorted and shook his
head. **All greens are pretty to you.** }{ the blue almost
sniffed at him. }:But you like hers, I know it.:{ **Yes well, that's
enough from you.** he continued getting the gear racked to take down
to the beach and set up for the game. He couldn't help looking over
his shoulder at where the party had landed.

When E'rae heard that some folks were getting a game of waterball together,
he headed toward the beach. The bluerider was ready to enjoy his restday, but
if there could be some fun exercise mingled with it, he was for that. "D'arvn,
do you need some help there?"

Rhosyn heard that and it didn't take long for the Weyrwoman to figure out what
was going on. Well, let them think they could beat her! **I might be small but I
can move quicker than they can in the water** So she was the first to arrive at
the beach, planning to be a team captain.

When the Weyrwoman walked down to where they were, G'wen noted to
himself that she was the same height as himself, if slightly heavier.
Pretty though. He, like everyone else, had heard all the rumours that
were about her and the Dolphin cove Weyrleader. He just hoped her
queen was nice and Neath wasn't too obnoxious with her. Feeling shy,
he nuzzled into N'klar's side before seeing D'arvn and a striking
bluerider helping him. Smiling, he gave him a small wave, hoping he
wasn't being too forward.

}:We have admirers,:{ Sebeth told his rider.

**Don't we always?** K'mai stretched , showing off as much of himself
as he could.

D'arvn smiled at the dark bluerider. "Sure thing. I can use all the
help I can get." His eyes slid past E'rae's shoulder to see the little
wave from G'wen. He smiled and lifted his chin in acknowledgement. He
watched Rhosyn take off and chuckled. He tossed one of the packaged
goals to E'rae. "I think that's it. We'll meet down at the beach. If
you can take one end I'll take the other. We'll have them set up in no
time." With that he mounted up and took off. Moments later they were
on the beach and he was unloading.

Uetia jogged in. "Hi! I heard there's a waterball game!" she
cheerfully greeted everyone in general. She was already geared up (or
down) for the game. If there was watersports going on, she was in it.

Tamah pulled off his shirt and waived to his friends. The
Harbourmaster was also member of the River Bluff's waterball team. He
might be past his fifties but he was in good shape. Like all native to
River Bluff, he seemed to consider the sea his second home.

Layris came to the beach directly from the kitchen. "I hope I'm not
late," he said, giving Uetia's muscular shape a sidelong, admiring
glance. Not that there was nothing wrong with Rhosyn's shape either.

Im're took a seat among the spectators, stretching out is injured leg.
Although it was pretty much healed up by now and he even didn't need
the crutches anymore. He was still wasn't up to playing waterball,
even if he could, which he couldn't. His swimming skills were too
limited to that.

Seeing everyone gathered and the court up, Rhosyn nodded. "Allright two teams-
who's with me?" The goldrider smiled as she flexed her toes in preparation.

G'wen ducked back when the teams were called. Not knowing how to
play, he looked about at the people sitting it out and his eyes fixed
on a familiar shock of red hair. "Imarre, is that really you?" He
sat down beside the person he had known as a candidate back home.
"What are you doing here?"

"Hi, Galwen!" Im're was delighted to see a familiar face from his time
in Dragonsfall Weyr. "It's Im're now. When Zharesti was calling favors
and borrowing candidates from other weyrs, I came here to try my luck
and what do you know! I found Gormth, or he found me."

G'wen ducked his head into Im're's shoulder, grinning. "Actually, I'm
G'wen now." He pointed to his shoulder knots and then to the green
who was eying Orlaith like a young girl to a bronze boy. "Where's
Gormth?"

"That sky-blue lump over there," he pointed the sunning dragons on the
bluff's terrace, where they could see whole the beach and out of the
way.

Meanwhile the team was getting organized.
"I can take the goal," Tamah volunteered to be the goal keeper.

D'arvn lifted his hand at Rhosyn's call. "I'm for your team," he grinned.

"Me too!" Jaylene shouted in glee. When she had heard a game was
being set up, she had dropped everything and came running down.
Laughing, she gave D'arvn's fine behind a sound slap before doing the
same to Rhosyn and then taking her place.
