Vandor

Vandor

Vandor stepped out into the waiting area and smiled at the man
who sat patiently. "Sorry about that E'ril, had a rather distressed
child to attend to." He motioned for the dragonrider to follow him.
"How's the arm?"

E'ril followed obligingly and began to unbutton his shirt as he did so.
"Better. I've been getting better sleep and have been taking it as easy
as I can on the arm. Don't want to mess up all your hard work." He hoped
that this appointment would be his last for a while and that Vandor's
skillful hands had worked out all the scar tissue.

"Well, you need to be able to use your arm normally, so I want you to
increase your activity til it's more normal." Vandor's hands began to
run over E'ril's arm, fingers seeking out the knots. "There's still a
little inflammation, but it is getting better. I'll want you to
continue coming in. Once a sevenday for the next few sevendays, then
we'll get it down to once a month until it feels normal and then just
come in as needed."

"I have to admit that sounds like a very long time but if it helps.
Besides I'm sure I won't mind a break every now and again from classes
and students." The hatching was still recent history but things were
starting to quiet down. "I'll go ahead and try to move it around some
more then."

"Yes, do so. Don't _over_ do it. Make sure any effort you put, you
increase it slowly, gradually." Vandor's hands worked their way down,
pausing very inch or so to work at the muscle. "It _feels_ better to
my touch than it has. I'm glad that you're feeling a difference as
well."

Over the last few sevendays, E'ril had become quite used to the way
Vandor manipulated his muscles. "As am I. I suppose I have you to thank
for that. I know it's your craft and everything but I feel like a night
out to dinner is in order."

Vandor laughed and shook his head. "Not necessary, but I don't mind
going somewhere for food and drinks with a buddy." It was a gentle way
of letting the man know that he didn't swing that way, but hey, free
food and free liquor, Vandor was always willing to enjoy that. The big
healer released the man's arm and felt over the shoulder before finally
letting go completely. "How does that feel?"

E'ril rolled his shoulder around as the blood began to flow back into
it. "It feels smoother, that's for sure." As for the Healer's answer to
his invitation, he was not surprised. He hadn't intended it to sound as
if he was trying to get close with the man but still, no harm done.
"Not a problem. You name the date and we'll get out and find someplace
where we can get a good pint."

"I'm going to take you up on that. I may be surrounded by
dragonriders, but I honestly don't get out of the Weyr much." Vandor
was often just so busy, but E'ril's invitation to actually go somewhere
brought to mind how long it _had_ been. "I don't work any rest days
next month, that would probably coordinate with your schedule better."

E'ril laughed a little, "I may be a dragonrider but in my line of work I
don't get out much either. A restday would definitely make things
easier. If you had a friend that you wanted to bring feel free, Dawenth
has room." Maybe he would talk to Sh'del about joining them for a
drink. Faranth knew the Second would need a night off as well.

"Sounds like a plan." Vandor would certainly look forward to getting
out for a while, and if done with pleasant company, all the better.
