Taeshin waited just beyond Meledei's door. He had been waiting two
days now to visit with Meledei since her threadscoring. Everyday he
had come to her weyr there had been a line of people and healers
checking in on her, and he didn't want to interrupt. Today he had
chosen the perfect time, when the Wings where in sweeps and training,
and everyone else was busy with chores. The drudge that had been sent
up to deliver Meledei's food for lunch had just left the room, so he
knew the queenrider was alone. He went quickly to her door, not
knowing if anyone had planned to share that lunch with Elleth's rider,
and knocked on her door.

"Hello?" Meledei lifted her head, one of the small moves that didn't
cause too much pain. There was a little with it, but not like trying
to move her entire body or even just her legs. She'd never realised
how attached to one another muscles were until that injury. When the
form passed through into the room and came into sight, she smiled.
"Well hello, Taeshin." Meledei was still forced to lie on her side,
but at least it was the one that faced the entrance way into that
room.

Taeshin looked at Meledei a frown of confusion and worry creeping over
his face. "Meledei...what happened? Are you alright? How's Elleth?
Who is your healer?" Taeshin asked, his emotions causing him to ramble
as he tried to comprehend what happened.

"I got hit by Thread, silly." It wasn't really a laughing matter, but
Meledei was trying to keep things light. A lot of people had been
worried about her and while that made her feel loved, she didn't want
people to get overly concerned. "It happens."

Taeshin looked at her solemnly. Yes it did happen, but for it to
happen to Meledei, just as they were beginning to mend broken bridges,
it scared Taeshin. "You are alright though, nothing seriously hurt?"
he asked, still looking her over.

"Nah, I'll be all right. It's not _too_ serious." Meledei knew it
could have been a lot, lot worse. "It's just going to set me back for
a little bit, but not too long. You'll see."

Taeshin nodded in agreement. "Yeah, you don't look too banged up,
although I've been here for a few minutes and we haven't bitten each
others heads off. Maybe you need to see a mindhealer" he said
jokingly.

"I can bite your head off if you really want me too." A mischievous
gleam drew into Meledei's gaze and her smile curled up even further at
the corners. "Just come a little closer."

Taeshin through his hand up in surrender, and took a step back, his
eyes gleaming with mirth. "I trust you. Queenriders don't lie,
especially about biting heads off" Taeshin said, laughing, having been
on the receiving end of Meledei's and Janani's not so pleased with him
attentions.

"You got that right." Meledei tried to shift and then immediately
regretted it. It wasn't the first time and probably wouldn't be the
last. She just couldn't get comfortable. "So here's the downside of
being a dragonrider, but I guess I can't complain about people waiting
on me hand and foot."

Taeshin gave a solemn and serious nod, like he had seen the Master
dragonhealer do so often during lessons; though his eyes still
retained their convivial shine. "Yes, having people at your beck and
call can be a _very_ nice thing" he said, barely able to keep a
straight face.

"Maybe you can be my personal drudge, huh?" Meledei's voice remained
light and she was most definitely teasing. "I could use some water.
And some klah. Plus a steak - nice and medium rare. Oh, don't forget
to get my favourite quilt and can you tidy up my weyr while you're at
it?"

Taeshin looked at Meledei with feigned surprise as he began to back
out of the Infirmary. "Why would you look at that, it's time for me
to go do something _very_ important. I had forgotten all about it.
I'll send a drudge your way right now Meledei, and come back later on.
Say hello to Elleth for me." The last bit he said just as he rounded
the corner and left at a very fast paced walk.
