Tavia

Tavia

}:She's not here yet.  But you can wait inside,:{ Kalamath informed
U'kaiah as they settled onto the ledge next to Suwath.  }:You're
beautiful today.:{

U'kaiah just rolled his eyes as he slipped off of the bronze's neck.
**She's not even in the same Weyr and you can't resist pouring on the
charm?**

}:Her rider isn't either,:{ Kalamath snorted and then turned his
attention to the pretty green.

**Sometimes I don't know why I put up with you, you giant lump,** though
his admonishment was colored with the deepest love for the beast.

Well, now what?  Tavia wasn't back yet and he had nothing to tell him
when she would be back.  No bathing pool to soak in.  Probably shouldn't
raid the Records room, but he would if it came down to it...

Then an idea struck him.  A grin spread across his lips as he began
peeling off his jacket and walking over to her sleeping area.  Turn
about was fair play!

A wave of pleasure underscored Sawauth's message when she told Tavia
that Kalamath's had arrived. **Is he flirting with you again?** she
asked.

}:Oh yes mine,:{ she said }:Your meetings make us both very happy,
they feel very good:{

Tavia laughed out loud and one of her patients turned to look at her
like she was crazy. "Sawauth" was all she said and the rider grinned
and nodded. Her shift had been over a while ago so she wrapped up as
quickly as she could and trotted up the steps to her weyr.

"U'kaiah?" she called as she came through the door. Then she saw him
and slammed the door behind her leaning against it helpless with
laughter.

"Hello healer," the bronzerider said, wearing only his grin.  He was
leaning back against a mound of pillows, his arms curled behind his head
lazily, a foot hitched up next to his knee.  "I have a little present
for you."

She grinned back at his turn around on her surprise visit to him.
"Unless my memory is failing me it's not little."

"Well, _that's_ not really a present since I'll be taking it back with
me.  That's more of a surprise."  He reached his arm back and pulled out
a small scroll from between the pillows and set it just above his navel.
"This is your Turns End present."

She walked quickly toward the bed and sat next to him to pull the
scroll and lean in for a quick kiss. "Thank you." She said. Then she
leaned into the pillows next to him and scrolled it open. Her eyes
opened wide and she gasped. "Really?" she said. "A flit egg, Oh
U'kaiah." This time the thank you kiss was much more thorough.

U'kaiah drank in her gratitude with as much relish as he did her kiss.
He had hoped she would be pleased.  "After our talk before, I was
thinking it would be wise for you to have flit you can use to contact me
when you need me.  Being that we're at different Weyrs and all.  I asked
around and found a wingrider whose gold flit just rose and he promised
me the first pick as soon as they're clutched."

She had no idea that he would take her flippant comment so seriously
but she found his concern for her and the baby touching. "It really is
very sweet U'kaiah." She knuckled the corner of her eye for a moment.
Then she stood and started taking off her clothes.

He leaned back into the pillows once more and enjoyed the sight of her
slowly peeling the layers off her body.  She had a goreous body.
U'kaiah wondered how it would look once the pregnancy was much more
evident.  He had seen plenty of pregnant women naked, and there was
something so beautiful about them.  He was sure the fact that she was
carrying his child inside of her would make her all the more
breathtaking.  The bronzerider couldn't wait to see it, to touch that
amazing baby bump and know that somewhere deep inside her was a part
of himself.

As the last piece of cloth feel from her body, he reached out for her
hand.  "Come here a minute," U'kaiah said softly as he gently pulled her
over him.  He wanted to feel that gentle of weight of her while he still
could, before there was that wonderful round stomach coming between
them.

She smiled and placed her hand in his willingly being drawn. There was
something in his eyes she hadn't seen before. They had been wild and
abandoned even exciting. That was what made their meetings so
stimulating and fun. It was different this time though. There was
tenderness in his touch and in his eyes. She smiled almost shyly as
she moved over him. She thought about how very deep this man was and
realized how easy it would be to fall in love with him. But then all
thought was swept away.

His fingers curled around her back as she settled herself on top of him,
gently tracing lines up her spine, around her shoulder blades, down her
ribcage to circle her behind and back again.  It was a touch meant to
induce pleasure, but not excitement.  Not yet.  "You know," U'kaiah said
as he looked up into her face, "I was wracking my brain trying to think
of what to get you for Turns End.  For a long time I had no idea what
you would like.  It made me realize that you are carrying my child, and
yet I don't really know you at all.  Tell me something about you I don't
know."

Her fingers splayed across his chest and ran over his shoulders as she
looked down with half closed eyes just enjoying the contact. She
thought about things that might surprise him about her and couldn't
think of anything of great importance so she closed her eyes and tried
to think of her happiest most peaceful place she would go to when she
was upset. "Flowers" she said. "I love flowers. Sawauth and I were
riding the wind one restday and came across this field that was
completely covered with flowers. When we landed the the entire
hillside was covered and I just sat there for hours being happy." She
opened her eyes and smiled. "I've never told anyone that before." she
chuckled. "How about you? Is there some time very simple that just
makes you happy?"

U'kaiah thought about many places that made him happy while he continued
his soft caresses.  No one stood out above the others.  But there was a
time... "Thunderstorms."  A small smile began to spread across his lips
at the very thought.  "I get all excited inside when I know one's
coming.  I sit on ledge and dangle my feet over the side and just watch
it roll in.  I could watch it for candlemarks.  I love everything about
it, the sight, the sound, even the smell.  If I can't stay awake,
sometimes I'll fall asleep on the sofa just listening to it roll off the
side of the cliff.  I feel the most amazing calm in a thunderstorm."
Which the absolute opposite of how many people felt, he knew.  "I guess
that sounds pretty strange, doesn't it."

"No, its doesn't sound strange. Though I don't really like them all
that much." She tended to cower under the covers during a storm though
she didn't particularly want to tell him that.

He settled back into the pillows, feeling very comfortable laying with
her like this.  "Tell me something else."

She laughed "Ok," she said. "I can cook. Not that I'll tell anyone
around here. I have enough work with the wing, and healing. But I can
really cook. I was raised by my parents and learned from my da. Of
course I don't have any equipment here but every once in awhile..."
she let the sentence trail off.

"Huh," U'kaiah snorted, rather amazed.  That was a rare talent in a
Weyr!  "All right... I can play the gitar.  I started when I was about
thirteen and I still pull it out, but I'm not nearly as good as I used
to be."

"Oh," she chortled. "if you'll play for me sometime I'll dance! That
would be fun when we're alone."

U'kaiah smiled at the thought, especially as his fingers gently brushed
along her sides and swell of her breasts that were pressed against him.
But she had given him a taste of what was going on inside that head of
hers, and he was hungry for more.  "Tell me more."

His hands were maddeningly distracting. It had to be the long harpers
fingers that were playing her. It was lovely but was making it very
hard for her to focus. "Mmmm well I've been enjoying helping Janani a
little with her hidework." She smiled and almost purred.. "Sawauth
really enjoys these visits you know."

"Oh yeah?" he asked, grinning at that admission.  "Why's that?"

"Oh man," she laughed. "Just like a bronzer to want a little ego
stroking." She threaded her finger through his hair. "She likes it
when we are together because of the effects of our lovemaking on my
emotions and the nice little spikes of pure pleasure that punctuate
it. Besides the fact that she has Kalamath's undivided attention."

The feeling of fingers running through his hair was truly one of his
greatest weaknesses.  Half closing his eyes he murmured, "Admit it,
Tavia.  You like my ego."

"Yes," she whispered and kissed him lightly. "Your ego, your touch,
your sense of humor, and if you don't make love to me this instant I'm
going to scream!"
