Kwiksol had spent the dinner people watching. The freedom of the weyr definitely suited Kwiksol, and he was currently enjoying his sight seeing. But such activities weren't much fun without someone to share your thoughts with. He saw a rider near by and decided to strike up a conversation.
"So," he said softly, leaning towards this rider. "Can you tell me more about that red head over there friend?"
"Her?" B'ram asked with a slight nod of his head. "She's trouble friend."
"No, please no," Kwiksol sighed, but was inwardly glad because he hadn't offended the stranger he was talking to. "Well then, who do you suggest?"
"You're not a fan of trouble, then friend?" the brownrider asked with a grin.
"No, I like a good challange every now and then," Kwiksol replied in defense. "Its just, with such a wide selection, why _look_ for trouble?"
"Ah, but she's the best kind of trouble," B'ram chuckled. "She's the kind that leaves you on your knees, thanking the Egg that you are a man."
Kwiksol looked again at the red head, nodding while letting out a long whistle. "When you put it that way...I'll definitely have to keep her in mind. But what about you sir? I wouldn't want to take from a man that given me a good tip."
"Oh, you wouldn't be taking her from any man. She belongs to no one.
That's why she's trouble," the brownrider said with a sad shake of his head. "She leaves you on your knees and forgets you as soon as she's had her fill of you. But shards, you can't wait to go back for more!
She's addictive that one."
"Hmmm, anyone with a, sweeter, disposition?" Kwiksol asked. He wasn't sure he was in the mood for such a let down at the moment, no matter how good the sex may be first.
"Good question. I haven't been here that long. I seem to only find the troublesome ladies. Says something, doesn't it." Sweet equaled danger in the brownrider's mind. Atreyn was sweet, and he had fallen for her hard. Well, sweet until she _left_ him heart broken and alone.
"You might say so," Kwiksol said wondering if such a thing could be coincidence. "Maybe we can find out together? You know, share notes?
Tell me, who's someone in here you don't know about."
"Well, I don't know about the harper girls yet. But then again, they might be a whole different kind of trouble."
Kwiksol sighed heavily while rolling his eyes. "definitely a different kind of trouble. At least the one I ran into. Wouldn't even give me her name, said she was a teacher though?"
B'ram shrugged. "Haven't met any lady harpers here. Not yet at least.
Was she pretty?"
Kwiksol gladly began describing the mystery harpess. "Tall, leggy, a perky outfit, and the way she carried herself," his voice was a tad wistful. He couldn't figure out why she had acted so prickly, and it bothered him. "_Then_ I saw her face. Her lips, and those dark, dark eyes. The type of eyes you would like to drown yourself in."
"I definitely need to meet more harpers," B'ram grinned. "A teacher you say? Then she would be easy to find. Just follow the children to Harper Classes."
"I can do one better," Kwiksol nodded then explained. "I can probably attend a class, looking for possible apprentices. Under no false pretenses either. We could stand to bolster our ranks, especially in instrumentation."
"You think your masters would send _you_ for such an important job?"
B'ram asked with a teasing smile. "I didn't know you were so important in the Hall!"
"Not really," Kwiksol shrugged, "But, I do have considerably more time then Masters, so theres a chance. I don't think any harm would be done if I sat in on a session, pass my notes on up."
"Shards, man, I was just joking with you," B'ram said with a friendly clap on the journeyman's back. "I think its very nice the way you would pursue that harper lady of yours. You'll have to point her out if you see her so I can be sure to give you first chance at her."
"Well, shes hardly _my_ harper lady." Kwiksol emphasized. "I wouldn't mind if someone warmed up the waters a bit first."
The brownrider roared with laughter. "I like the way you think, harper!"
"Why thank you, thank you" Kwiksol replied as if nodding to an applauding crowd.
"Well, you'll have to tell me how you get along with her, journeyman."
"I sure will, but," Kwiksol began swiveling his head around the room.
"What can you recommend, for this evening?"
"Go talk to the red head. You won't be sorry." The brownrider grinned knowingly. "At least not until tomorrow."
Kwiksol shot one more glance towards the red they'd been talking about the whole time. He couldn't resist. "If you don't mind then," he said, getting up, flashing back a similar grin, "I'll be, leaving.
Good luck in _your_ search rider."
