Oria

Oria

Though her duties as a rider kept her more than busy, it wasn't hard to find time to fit in a shift at the infirmary now and then. It kept her into her craft, although she had accepted that it would be turns before she walked the tables, if indeed she ever managed that feat.

As she slipped into the infirmary, she paused to grin at the tall senior apprentice stood measuring herbs out. "How's it going Odarian?"

Odarian shifted his eyes up to see who was talking to him. He was afriad to move, not wanting to ruin his current measurement. "Oria!"
He smiled back. Oria was always a pleasant sight in the infirmary, the few times she was around now. After carefully placing the herbs down he looked up at her. "I've been ok. Much better now that you've walked in." He paused for a moment, "Do you have some time to help?"

"Sure," she replied with a grin. "Degrorth is sunning, and I was released from drills for the day. So I thought I'd come pick up my schedule here, and they might get upset if I didn't do my shift."

"Grab your schedule first, I don't want to get you in trouble," he said with a wave as if motioning her off. "Oh, but can you get the Borage leaves on the way back, I'm working on dosage amounts for poultices."

"No problem," she called as she disappeared off, returning moments later with a hide that she folded and added into her belt pouch. "This what you were after?"

In the brief moments she was gone Odarian quickly ran his hands through his hair, and flicked a few flecks off his tunic. "Yes, it is. Beautiful and efficient, what a pleasant combination," he gave her a wink as he took the container and placed it on the table.

She smiled, the compliment was welcome, and Odarian was good company. Like his father as a matter of fact. That set her mind to wondering just how much like his father he really was. "So, how far had you got?" she asked.

Odarian was a little disappointed all he got in return was a smile, but back to business. "Wellll," He referred to hide one of the Journeymen had given him listing what they wanted in the poultice packets. "I'm this far through the list," he said pointing to above Borage. "So a few leaves of Borage and then no more then two Hyssop leaves. And we could probably measure out some bandaging of course."

"Bandages are boring!" She ran a finger down the list, brushing close past his hand as she did so. "What about this mix here? The one with Menthol and Wintergreen? Shall I start there?"

"Ok, then while your doing this," he said sweeping up his hand to also brush hers, "Then I'll finish this," he took his other hand, loosely encircling Oria's arm, to point what he was working on, "Then maybe later we can both work on that?" taking one of his hands off the table he pointed to Oria's smile.

"If I didn't know better, I'd say you were flirting with me," she teased. Although he was rather like his father, maybe he was in other ways as well?

"Its a good thing you don't, isn't it?" Odarian replied with giving her chin a tilt before fully unentwining his arms from hers. **Hmmm, can I keep her attention past when this shift is over?**

She laughed, not at him, but on genuinely finding the situation amusing. "How about we carry on with this and get it done. There's always later."

He eyed her for the laugh, he didn't even think the comment had been that funny. **Who am I to question her giggly laugh?** "Couldn't have said it better myself," he replied, resuming his work, but still shooting glances at Oria.

"Then meet me for dinner?" she suggested. That was harmless enough.

"Sure, that sounds appetizing," he replied, trying to hide the laugh at the horrible pun.

She did laugh again then. One of the older greenriders in her wing had told her that men like that kind of attention, well now was the time to try it out.

He continued what he was doing, but grinned noticeably. **What a delightful creature.** He thought.

"Well lets get this finished first," she suggested.
