Telemon knocked the Headwoman's office door. On his shoulder, Ena let out a little trill.
"Come in." Tatitem called absently, checking over the menus for the upcoming sevenday. She glanced up, and smiled warmly as the Weyrhealer entered. "Good morning, Master Telemon. How are you settling in?"
"Morning, Tatitem. Quite well, thank you," Telemon replied with a almost shy smile. "I need to ask a favor from you." She raised an eyebrow. "What sort of favor?"
"Well, it's about my quarters...the previous weyrhealer had a family and I got his old rooms. I really don't need three bedrooms and a kitchen. It's just me, my flit and my feline. Shards, I get lost on my way from bedroom to bathroom. So, I thought you could find me little smaller quarters. A single room with bath would do just fine," Telemon explained his situation with apologetic tone. "Hmm." Tati weighed things quickly in her mind. The roomier quarters was a sign of his status, true, but if he wasn't comfortable there... There were always growing families who could use the space. The trick would be to find him suitable quarters close to where he needed to be. "I assume you have no plans to fill those rooms any time soon?" She stated dryly, removing a hide from the right corner stack.
"Nope," Telemon replied dryly. Tatitem smiled. "Do you have any other preferences, other than a bath?
Close to the infirmary, perhaps?"
"That would be handy. I would be close by when emergencies rose," Telemon replied. Not that he would spent much time in his room anyway, just sleep there. Most of his waking hours would be spent at the infirmary. Tati scanned the hide she'd pulled out, experimenting with a few rearrangements in her mind. There were a few single rooms available, but getting one with a bath was always trickier. But she knew some of the smaller families had requested more spacious quarters, and three of them were in the general area of the infirmary _and_ had baths...
"I have a few options available in that area with baths. If you like, I could arrange to have them shown to you." She said at last.
"All right, I would like that," Telemon replied. "I'll see what I can arrange." She promised, satisfied. "But it may take a sevenday or two. Most of the smaller weyrs are occupied." She warned.
Telemon nodded, "Of course I can wait." "Is there anything else I can help you with?" She asked, discretely evaluating him. As the Weyrhealer she intended to keep him as comfortable as possible -they had a reputation to maintain. But it didn't mean she couldn't enjoy the view -if he was interested. And he had already established that he was single...
"Not at the moment, thank you. I'm used to cope with the minimum. After all those turns as a traveling healer, this is quite a change," Telemon replied with wide sweeping gesture that included the whole weyr. And after several decades of repressing anything resembling a sexuality in his own life, he was totally blind to all signals of interest... After a moment's contemplation, Tatitem decided to place him in her "possibly later" mental file, and answered with a warm smile. "I understand. But please don't hesitate to inform me if there is anything else you need."
"I shall," Telemon promised, although he couldn't figure what more he would want. He had a place to sleep, food to eat, clothes and job he loved.
Tatitem stood as he did, accompanying him to the door. "Have a good day, Weyrhealer. I'll send a messenger when I've arranged everything."
"You too, headwoman, you too."
