Fly Me

Writers: Avery, Rochelle
Date Posted: 30th August 2006

Characters: L'pin, Eleada
Description: L'pin and Eleada wake together after Gliorith's flight.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 13, day 23 of Turn 3

L'pin came back to himself aware of deep contentment running through his
mind. It was a familiar feeling of deep satisfaction and pleasure, and
yet he couldn't remember how it happened. **Chaneth?** Was it-?

}:Gliorith chose me.:{ Chaneth said with pride. }:We flew well. This is
good for me. It is good for you. You needed this.:{

**I can do fine in the department on my own.** L'pin thought.

The blue continued as if he hadn't heard. }:I like when you feel good
after a flight. Now you need to feel the non-flight feelings.:{ He was
certainly single-minded.

**Thanks.** L'pin muttered mentally. He stretched, admitting that the blue
was right- it felt amazingly good. He looked over to see his partner. Ah,
a female greenrider. Chaneth hadn't been chasing the males much. He waited
for her to wake, wondering idly how she'd feel about it.

Some riders, those from holds, weren't always happy when their partners
were older then they were. How would she feel?

Eleada floated in her contentment, vaguely aware that she should be waking
soon, but not wanting to. It was sooo nice...

Movement beside her pulled her reluctantly awake, but she remained
determinedly happy, reaching for Gliorith to find out who she had chosen.
}:Chaneth.:{ Gliorith supplied sleepily. She was as determinedly curled
around her chosen one as her rider wanted to be. Eleada smiled muzzily as
she reluctantly rolled over. She didn't know who Chaneth belonged to, but
whoever the rider was, he had to be older. No mere stripling was _that_
good at flight lust. She'd been around enough in her earlier years to
know.

She opened her eyes, aware that he was watching her. She blinked slowly,
looking him over, refusing to surrender the contentment for as long as
possible. It had been far too long since she'd felt this. What she saw
caused her smile to deepen. She was right, and she did recognize him...
vaguely.

"L'pin...?" She murmured, hoping she was right. Gliorith didn't seem to
be willing to offer that much at the moment.

"Yes?" he asked, stretching again. Ah, this felt amazing, and he silently
thanked his blue. "Feeling well, I hope?" His smile was sincere, if a bit
tinged with the aftereffects of before.

"Wonderful." She smiled dreamily, running her eyes over what parts of him
she could see without moving. Watching him stretch brought instinctive
memories to mind that she would love to indulge in again. "You?"

"Gliorith flies amazingly." he remarked. "And not just in Flights- I
believe I've seen her fly before. And, of course, this was wonderful."

Eleada chuckled softly. "She loves to fly, so when she doesn't have to
worry about me she lets loose. She was pretty impressed with Chaneth too,
for keeping up with her." She stretched, making sure her leg was still
touching his. It was so nice to wake up to someone again... "And you
shouldn't sell yourself short either." She added.

He smiled. "Really?" Reaching out, he brushed stray hair from her face.
"I'm glad she is pleased with her choice."

"So am I." She leaned into the hand moving her hair. It was warm and
comforting -or perhaps that was just an aftereffect from the flight. She
didn't care. Gliorith had flown, and flown well. And if she'd conceived,
well, she couldn't stop her dragon from mating, could she? Now was the one
time she could enjoy herself. "It's been a long time since we could do
this." She murmured softly.

"Has it really?" He stroked her cheek again. "You're very pretty, and it's
not just the flight talking. Surely you don't mean no one appreciates
that?"

She smiled at the compliment, stopping his hand and gently laying a kiss
in the palm. "No. I..." Her stomach clenched uneasily, and she swallowed.
She looked away from him, but continued hurriedly. She didn't want him to
think it was _him_ that caused her to blanch! "I conceive easily, so I try
to avoid taking partners unless they're special to me. Then Gliorith was
scored, and this is the first she's risen in over a turn."

"Oh, I see." he murmured. "I would ask if she was healed, but she
certainly flies well enough to know that she is. And..." he hesitated.
"If you do conceive from this, I'll stand by your choice, so you know- I
have a son of my own."

She turned to look at him, completely stunned. No one had ever offered her
that after a _flight_ before... She studied him a moment, then felt a
smile tugging at her lips. "I have three." She admitted warmly, running a
light hand down his side and feeling the remains of the flight lust stir
even stronger in her for his understanding. "And thank you."

He leaned over and kissed her, the flight lust coming back. "Tell me...is
the flight still affecting you?" he asked, knowing some people preferred
to work it off, others didn't want to give in.

She chuckled softly, letting him see what the kiss -Faranth, when was the
last time she'd been kissed?- had done to her. "Oh yes." She cuddled
closer to him, slowly stretching herself along his side before planting a
light kiss in the hollow of his throat. Feeling a bit more daring now that
the lust was stirring again, she pulled herself up to return his kiss with
a much longer one.

He shivered and kissed her again, stroking his hand along her cheek. "No
one's going to expect us for anything for at least another few
candlemarks." he remarked. "I could think of some good things to do for
those few candlemarks..."

"I'm all for it." She whispered breathlessly. Shards, if he kept kissing
her... She started stroking him lightly, running her hands through his
hair and down behind his neck. She let her fingers keep running, across
his shoulders and down his side again as she continued, a mischievous
gleam
in her eyes. "I'm sure we could show our dragons a thing or two if we put
our minds to it...?"

"I'm up for it." he replied, allowing his hands to wander. "They may
have amazing flights, but those are only a few times a turn, while we
can have our own flights anytime..."

She chuckled softly, still stroking. His hands were becoming maddening...
She moved swiftly, changing position so that she was straddling him, both
hands running all over him as she leaned and drank deeply, holding the
kiss as long as she could before pulling back, her curls tumbling down to
half obscure her face. "Will you fly me?" She whispered, pressing herself
against him.

"Yes." L'pin whispered hoarsely, kissing the hollow of her throat and
moving in reply, while somewhere outside, Chaneth hummed in approval.
