You know..." Traelyn murmured as she idly began tracing lazy circles on his skin, "that river is lookin' awfully tempting..." She didn't know how long they'd been lying there, in the grass, half-sprawled on top of him, lulled by the sound of water lapping over stones, but now she was finally getting up the energy to actually move again. Propping her chin up on his chest, she looked at him. "What do you think?"
"I think you've just been right twice in one day," he said, grinning.
A pale brow rose and she grinned back at him. "I guess it's a record, huh?"
"I don't know. I didn't start counting until today." N'vanik shifted so he could get up on his elbows.
Rolling off of him, Trae looked at her arms and wrinkled her nose at all the grass stuck to her. "Next time, we need to bring a blanket or something."
"Aren't we fancy," he teased as he sat up.
"Yes, we are." She slanted him a look, rising up on her knees. "I know you like to have sex in interesting places," **like desks...** "but aren't you kind of annoyed with all the grass sticking to...inconveinent places?"
"We've got a whole bunch of water right there to wash it off with."
N'vanik smiled and pointed toward the river.
"Help me up then?"
He stretched and stood up, then offered her a hand. "Too tired to get up yourself?"
"Mmmmm." She took it and let him haul her to her feet, then pressed herself against him. "But I'm getting my energy back. Slowly."
"Good. I don't want you worn out yet." He turned and walked toward the river, still holding her hand.
She flashed him a grin as she slipped into the cool water, tugging on his fingers so he'd come in beside her. "Shards, this feels good," she muttered, sighing as the heat slowly became more and more unnoticable. Letting her hand slide from his, Trae submerged herself fully up to her neck, then tilted her head back so she could see his face. "How's it going with drills, N'vanik? I don't think I really ever asked you..."
"It's going good," he said. And it had been, except for that one incident.
"Although I can tell some of them aren't happy with me being back."
"I guess they didn't miss your...charms, huh?" She gave him a half-smile, knowing all too well how he acted towards others.
N'vanik shrugged as he slid further into the slowly flowing water.
"They're more mad at me for getting their beloved Wingleader in trouble."
"Mmm..." Yes, that would definitely be another reason. Not wanting to spur on an argument between them, she decided not to comment, and instead let the drifting current pull her more towards him.
A few moments passed in silence. The river was comfortably cool and N'vanik enjoyed the feel of it and the feel of Trae beside him. }:This is very good,:{ Loseth commented sleepily. The large bronze was sunning in the warm grass, curled beside Nyith.
"It'd be nice if we could do this more often," she finally murmured, her tone blending in with the calm sounds of the rippling river.
"Mmm-hmm," he agreed, nodding gently.
"Mmm-hmm? Is that all I'm gonna get out of you today?" she asked with a teasing laugh.
He lifted an eyebrow. "Shouldn't you be happy I'm agreeing with you, and not arguing with you?" he teased.
Grinning, she swiped a hand across the surface of the water, splashing his face. "I never said I was complaining about _that_!" She dove to the right before he could retaliate.
With a surprised "Hey!" N'vanik went after her. Traelyn was a strong swimmer, but he caught up with her, grabbing her ankle and giving it a healthy tug before returning to the surface.
She came up spluttering and laughing, kicking water in his general direction. "Is that all you got?" she taunted, flicking her foot at him again.
Taking a deep breath, N'vanik dove again. This time he got his arms around Trae's waist and pulled her down.
Her yelp was abruptly cut off as they both submerged. Struggling playfully against his hold, she tried to get the upperhand in this little game.
After a few more seconds, N'vanik let her go and followed her to the surface. Shaking his head so water sprayed everywhere he asked, "What about you, Weyrwoman? Think you can take me?"
Swimming to a more shallow area of the river not too far from him, she stood up, wet and naked, and planted her hands on her hips. Her grin was impishly saucy. "Take you how, bronzerider? Standing or lying down?"
N'vanik swam toward her with lazy strokes. "Looking like that, you can take me any way you want."
A pale brow teasingly rose. "Oh yes?"
"You gonna keep asking questions, Beautful?" he asked as he reached the shallow water. "Or are you gonna _do_ something?" The bronzerider stood close to her, their bodies almost touching.
Traelyn gave him another impish smile as she ran her hands lightly down his arms, then back up again, nails caressing. Then she leaned forward, her chest brushing against his as she kissed the side of his neck. "Just as long as you reciprocate," she murmured, teeth scraping gently against his skin.
His fingers brushed against her hips and then slid lower. "I always do."
