Lueanth came out of /between/ above the sandy island cove. Her rider Cherlyn looked down on her favorite secluded place. The small green dragon lighted gently upon the sands.
Cherlyn slid off the side of her beloved.
}:quickly, I want to swim!:{ Lueanth told her rider, shaking her neck where the riding straps rested.
Despite herself Cherlyn chuckled. Surprised at how the silence intensified her laughter, she stopped, remembering some obscure rule she had learned in the Hold.
Lueanth stopped mid leap on her way in the water. }:Why did you stop? I like it when you laugh. You should laugh more.:{ Lueanth continued her cavorting and Cherlyn resigned to just take the chance to sun.
}:Is this what you where looking for?:{ the bronze asked his rider. He spoted a lovely green in the water and banked into a tight spiril. }:You can talk to Cherlyn, I'm swimming with Lueanth.:{ J'ren smiled. leave it to his bronze to find a green to flirt with. Cherlyn and Lueanth? Not from River Bluff then.
Lueanth bugled a greeting as a bronze dragon entered from /between/.
**A bronze?** Cherlyn was suddenly wary.
}: Kenaranth and J'ren:{ Lueanth told her rider as the bronze dragon deposited his rider onto the sands.
"Good day Cherlyn! Lueanth looks well."
he called, trying to be friendly.
Cherlyn was nervous. She'd never caused much attention in the weyr. "And your Kenaranth is positively glowing." she replied nervously.
}:Why are you worried? He is nice and you are nice.
You will get along fine. His bronze is big a strong.:{ Lueanth was tired of having to interupt her swimming to calm her rider.
Cherlyn was catechized.
"So," she asked, rather awkward, "what brings you to this deserted bit of beach?"
"Some place quiet, it seems like everyone else has all the quiet spotes near Rivebluff claimed already."
"Oh," Cherlyn replied. **Shards, whats wrong with me? He's just a fellow rider.**
}:You like him.:{ Came Lueanth's simple reply.
**I do?** Cherlyn had never liked someone else that way before. She had been taught that love had nothing to do with it. She hesitated to reply to J'ren, worried she say something stupid.
"How'd you find this place? It's gergous." **so is she.**
Both were blushing deeply, avoiding one anothers gaze, while their dragons cavorted in the waves.
"Oh, I found it one of my first days as a graduated rider. I had needed a respite from Weyrlife, and ended up here." Cherlyn replied. She looked up at J'ren, the early afternoon sun casting his face in shadow.
"You're welcome to sit. It seems our dragons are leaving us here a while." Cherlyn patted the sand next to her nervously.
"Thank you greenrider." J'ren placed Kenaranth's straps well abouve the water line. "Do you enjoy weyrlife?" he asked, for some reason he was sure she was hold bread.
"Oh it's interesting enough. I never have a dull day. But if it weren't for Lueanth I'm not sure I'd belong there. It's very different." Cherlyn looked at her feet as she said this.
They sat in silence, both confused with their own emotions, watching their dragons sport in the waves.
