Where would you go...?

In two big sleeps I leave for my trip to California, and I am SO EXCITED. Especially since it got rainy and cold here. Yay! I'm looking forward to Venice Beach and seeing Joshua Trees, and going to Coachella, but I never, ever expected that my next trip would be back to the States. It's got a lot going for it but somehow it still seems too close to home.

If I could go anywhere, I'd either go to Southeast Asia, or to Africa. Or back to Mexico. Thailand has been really attractive to me for a while, now, and I've got four friends travelling there at this very moment! I've always wanted to go to Africa because I grew up on (a very few) stories about my Mum's time living in Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia) and it's always seem a really magical, surreal, sunbaked place to me. And I loved Mexico.

Where would you go if you could go travelling anywhere in the world?

Dana

England, Ireland and Italy.  :love5:  Those are my top three.  And I'd love to go to the Caribbean too!  I'm a sucker for beautiful, tropical places.  And even though it's part of America, I want to go to Alaska and see the Aurora Borealis.  Though, I've heard New Zealand has northern lights too...  Is that true?  That's another place I'd like to visit  :)

And I'd love to go to Hawaii again....

Oh, and yay for California, Yvonne!  :D  The Joshua Trees are beautiful in their own, desert-y way...  I hope you have a great time!  We're having some gorgeous weather here...  It'll be a nice break from the cold and rain  ;)

Yay good weather! *g* I'm not bringing a rain jacket...

There are Northern Lights here in Canada, too! Sometimes I can even see them in the city. I keep forgetting that not everyone has seen them... they're really, super neat. :) Even when you've grown up with them.

And England, Italy, and Ireland? I've been to the first two and they're fantastic countries, and I'm sure that Ireland is too, if it's anything like Scotland! (even vaguely)

Paula

I would go to New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Ireland and Iceland.

Chloe: A list of everyone you've slept with in the past eight weeks.
Lucifer: Right. You'll need a much bigger notepad.

Maze to Lucifer: I'm worried that humans are rubbing of

I've been to Ireland, well Dublin ;)  Tried the guiness to be sure!

Where would I go.... Hmmm 'Down Under', back to the US, Canada, South America

Vix

Umm. . . anywhere?

Top of the list is Australia and New Zealand.
Then Europe: the UK, followed by Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Scandinavia, and Greece.

Other locations are those where my daughter has been and keeps showing off pictures: Iceland, Korea, Thailand, Laos

QuoteThough, I've heard New Zealand has northern lights too...

Actually those would be the southern lights, hon.

And we could see the Northern Lights from my college campus up in Washington after a really strong solar storm!  Pretty much every year I saw them from there.  The sky would turn turquoise or green... once I saw spikes of white and red...  But the best part was that the cows could be heard all over town all night because the weird lights in the sky would freak them out!  (Yeah, it was a rather rural college campus...)

I think I'd like to go to Europe, but really, though I live in Japan, I haven't traveled anywhere in Asia yet...  Korea is only a 3 hour boatride away...  My friend wants to go to Thailand with me someday, too.  And thery are TALKING about maybe letting me go to New Zealand with the second-year students this year.  But they've never let me go before since I have to teach the first and third years during that time, so we'll see...

Patrick

I always wanted to go biking through Europe when I got out of college.  But I'd settle for CANADA!  See, I've never even been outside the country so I'd jump at any chance to travel.  Before Freshman year I'd never been off the eastern Seaboard or further south than Virginia, so I always dream of traveling.

Scotland and then Ireland!!

Then Germany, Australia, and England.

I would move to Ireland if I could.   Maybe I still could...

I obsess about traveling.  I keep a list of "Places I Want to Go" and add to it often, and cross off from it just as often when I get to those places.   I travel alot for work and for fun, so my lists expands and contracts on a regular basis.

If I was rich, I would just travel from place to place.   I guess I should have been a gypsy.

Actually, maybe its because I have been out of the country for the last two and a half years, but most of the places I dream about going right now are in America.  There is still so many places that I have never been.  I've never been to Chicago, or LA, San Diego, Texas, Boston...  And OMG I want to go driving across America so bad!  Seriously, one of the first things I want to do when I get back to the states is buy a car and drive from Seattle to Atlanta to see my older brother.  To me that would be my dream vacation.  I'd stop at 50,000 roadside markers and museums and state parks and historical sights along the way...

I've only ever visited Florida (my home), Massachussettes (briefly and not Boston), Washington DC, Georgia, NYC, and New Jersey. Thus, there are a LOT of places I want to go!

America:

Boston
Seattle
San Francisco
New Mexico
Lots of places o.o

Countries:

England
Japan
Egypt
Scotland
Germany

and lots more.

I would go back to Austria. Sometimes I get so homesick for there that I dream about the place, even though it's been 10 years since I was there! I want to sit on the side of the Danube and watch the river boats, or go touring through the Stift (which I went to school in for 9 months!) or get up in the morning early enough to get freshly baked semmelen... Mmmm.

If it weren't quite so volitile, I'd like to go to Lebanon to visit my cousins. And I want to take my husband to Italy and Greece, because I think anyone who is interested in history should get to go to the awesome places there.

Mostly I like going places with oceans. I'm an ocean baby, grew up on the coast and find the sound of the waves more soothing to my soul than anything else. ;) Living in the middle of the country for 10 years was awful hard on me!

Oh, right.

Hmm...I'd also like to visit Gettysburg, Williamsburg and Yosemite, again.  And New York again and go shopping!  :love5:  I haven't been to Yellowstone, Chicago, Boston or Seattle...I'd love to go to those places someday  :)

I have a whole huge list, but this is just the rather small number that my sleep-deprived brain can recall right now...

Australia
New Zealand
Africa
Alaska
the Galapagos Islands
