Kenaranth landed in the courtyard with the usual draconic grace, waiting long enough for J'ren to dismount, he joined the watch dragon on the heights. J'ren headed for the classrooms figuring his old friend would be letting classes out about now. He was right. The bronzerider had to flatten himself against a wall as the children rushed passed him on their way somewhere else. He ducked into the low door. "Mostark? Have some time to chat?" he asked.
The harper looked startled. It took him a minute to recognize the dragonrider in front of him. "J'ren? When wouldn't I have time for an old friend?" he laughed and did his best to crush the bronzerider in a hug. "Amrimma told me about your son, I wanted to say congratulations in person." he said with a smile. "I brought this for the little one." he held out a small stuffed firelizard. Mostark gestured for the bronzerider to follow him, "He'll love it in a few months I'm sure. Let me put this classroom back together and I'll take you meet him."
"I don't remember if I told you but I'm wingsecong for Torrent now. Our old weyrleader U'das leads the wing. It's good to see his bronze flying again."
"Glad to hear it, I've heard U'das was a good Weyrleader." The harper straightened the last of the hides on his desk. "My quarters are this way." He lead the bronzerider down a nearly deserted hall. "Lonoa? Is the babe asleep? J'ren is here to visit." he told his wife quietly.
"He's awake, in his crib. Hello J'ren how's your bronze?" the young mother asked.
"Healthy, chasing greens, and continuing to grow a bigger head by the day." he replied. "He's cute. Kind of funny looking but cute." Referring to the babe in his crib.
"J'ren! That's my son your talking about!" Mostark cried. His wife left the room. "Your right though. He does look a little odd. Just don't tell Lon, she'll make me sleep on the couch."
J'ren grinned at his friend, then leaned over the crib. " Hello hatching. You going to come to the Weyr in couple of turns, we tried to keep your father but he got posted here."
"You know it was the Halls choice and I don't mind Sapphire Meadows, it's pretty and the weather's nice. Besides I don't know how Lon would take living in a Weyr. She knows I grew up at Dragonsfall and thinks I'm a little strange." The harper laughed.
"A little? You where the oddest of the lot." J'ren assured his friend. "You made me look normal."
"No one could make you look normal bronzerider." Mostark shot back.
"If you two are going to make fun of each other, please do it in the other room. The baby is hungry." Lonoa interrupted softly. She frowned slightly over the noise they where making.
J'ren mimned ducking to aviod the young mother's wrath. She pointed to the door.
Grinning at each other the old friends left for the common room to share stories and catch up on each others lives.
