A Visit to the Seacraft Hall

Writers: Ames, Chelle
Date Posted: 20th June 2014

Characters: Relik, Famell
Description: The Dolphin Hallmaster begins his travels by stopping at the Seacraft Hall before heading North
Location: Seacraft Hall
Date: month 6, day 7 of Turn 7

Famell had yet to see the progress on the Seacraft Hall. Having
arrived with the aide of the dragonriders, he took a moment to just
admire the land and the progress on the Hall. He knew Relik would be
expecting him.

Thanking the rider who'd brought him, he carried his small bag away
and watched as the dragon took to the sky. They would return to get
him at the end of his stay at the Hall.

Relik himself was actually down at the shipyards that were almost finished.
That had been a priority once the main quarters had been done. It was something
the seacrafters themselves could manage instead of the builders. He surveyed
his yards, imagining the crafts that would be built in the future. His
eyes caught
the dragon and he realized Famell had probably arrived. Clad in his
work tunic, he
headed up to the landing area that had been cleared in front of the Cargo Bay.

It didn't take him long to notice the figure approaching from down by
the shipyards. Raising his hand in greeting, Famell headed towards
Relik.

"Ah Relik," Famell called out, "the Hall is coming along quite nicely.
I'm glad I got to come see it finally."

"A far cry from what we envision it to be, but we're on our way there."
Relik squinted against the sun before pulling his hat brim down. "Would
you rather have a look or come inside? Plenty of time for both."

"Give me a quick tour. My bags and belly can wait a bit," Famell
quipped, patting the said belly as he spoke.

"Fair enough." Relik led the taller man around the headland. "So first we have
the docks. This is Korkary's domain. We have loading docks, drydocks, piers,
and moorings." Pointing out all the features, he surveyed his domain with a hint
of pride. The docks would grow as the Hall grew of course.

"Very good," Famell replied, taking everything in. The docks looked
well built and ready for many ships to come to port. "You've made
great progress so far."

As they passed the docks and the shipyard, Relik pointed everything out.
When they came back around, the pair of Masters went up to the main buildings
on the headland. "And this is the heart of the Hall. The main building
is the Cargo
Bay. There's the watchtower and then quarters and cotholds."

Famell noted each detail as they passed. "You'll be able to see great
distances from the tower there. That will definitely come in handy."
He looked around at the other details of the Hall. "This will be quite
the bustling place once all is finished and moving." In fact even as
he said it, he noted just how busy things were already.

"How goes the small pod of dolphins that have been here to assist
you?" Famell asked as they continued to walk. Part of the reason for
his visit was to check up on the pod and see what Relik's thoughts
were on a more permanent pod with dolphineers stationed at the Hall at
all times.

"They've been helpful certainly. Once we get enough ships docking, they'll be
needed even more." The animals were certainly helpful to any shipping operation.
The seacrafters had come to rely on them for extra help as well as
rescue operations.

"Very good. Things are definitely going well. I'll spend some time
talking with the pod and dolphineers here before I return home and see
what needs they have. Since it is such a small pod, we may need to
consider sending a few more to join them once things are really up and
running." With a final glance around Famell added, "Now how about we
consider a nice hearty meal?" He grinned and patted his fellow
Hallmaster on the shoulder. He had enjoyed the tour and knew they
would be working together closely from now on.
