Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 10, day 5 of Turn 3

B'vin waved a greeting at the dragonhealer as he gingerly dismounted off Serenth in the Weyrbowl. His leg was getting stronger by the day, but jumping off her back still jarred him, but it was better than walking everywhere. "Greenrider B'vin? This beauty must be Serenth." D'carn greeted the pair as he approached.

"Yeah, did you need her harness off or anything?" B'vin asked, unsure of the procedure. This had been Serenth's first major scoring, and B'vin had still been in the infirmary when she had been treated and pronounced fit before. "Please, I'll need to be able to see in the entire score, would you like some help?" The dragonhealer was only too aware of the young man's own scores.

"No, I've got it." B'vin said defensively as he undid the fastening on the harness. He hated people thinking he was weak. D'carn ignored the young man's rudeness. "Serenth will you please extend you right wing for me?" he had his brown pass on the request as well. Ducking under her wing he traced the scare patterns. "The scaring is fairly thick here under the wing. She might have some difficultly with the tighter maneuvers in drills if it doesn't even out."

"But she flies just fine!" he said startled, "I've been flying her out to the coves almost every day!" "She _can_ fly, but she'll have limited mobility. No turning on wing tip."

B'vin started to feel panicked, "Well, what can I do, will she get better?" His mind reached out to Serenth, but she appeared unconcerned, just curious at the attention, }: I feel fine. :{ "She will continue to heal, the full extent will not be know for several months. What you can do is keep the hide well oiled. When she does fly, do not I repeat do not over tax her wing. It is possible, even likely, that she will recover completely."

He nodded emphatically, "Of course, is regular oil okay, or is there something special? And what sort of flying can she do, like I said, I've been flying her to the coves almost every day?" "That's good, but I'm going to recommend that you transfer out of the fighting wings until everything is healed. Both for her sake and yours." after a pause the healer spoke again. "Has Serenth rose to mate recently?

"No, she's almost due to." B'vin said shaking his head in dismissal, he was starting to get mad at this dragonhealer. He didn't want to transfer wings, he wanted everything to get back to normal! "Look, I don't see why I need to..." He paused, realizing that he wouldn't have asked such a random question as mating if it wasn't related to her injury, "Actually, she hasn't risen in a long time." He thought about her last flight and his stomach clenched in remembered disgust. That was quickly displaced by something else growing in his gut, panic. "D'carn, she should have risen at the very latest two months ago!"

"It could be her injury, or yours. Greens don't rise if their rider is injured. Her own scoring my have put off her cycle as well. It's not anything to worry about yet, but I want to keep an eye on her just in case."

**Serenth? Why haven't you risen? Is it because of me? Are you too hurt?** B'vin asked hastily. She thought a moment, unsure as to why B'vin was so upset. }: I have not had the feeling. I will lead a chase when I want to. :{ B'vin sighed, frustrated by his greens answer. "She doesn't seem concerned about it. She will rise again though right? I'm getting better, and she'll get better, so she'll be okay?"

"She should be fine, given some time. Like I said it could be either.
The dragon can be unaware that she should rise. You know they don't think in terms of time the way we do."

He nodded, knowing that time would be a determining factor, but determined to fully heal and get Serenth healed as well. Nothing but his beautiful green mattered to him, and he would do whatever it took to see her healthy and flying in her wing again.
