Location: River Bluff Weyr

Eioval walked into the Hatching Cavern with a sense of anticipation.
Staying on the stands, he got as close to the gold as he could and waited
for either Vilarth or Lenala to notice him.
"Over here, Eioval!" Lenala called from the side stand, where she had set
up a work space for herself. Piles of hides and writing utensils littered
the benches.
Eioval made his way down to Lenala, smile on his face. "Hello there, Ma'am,
do I come at a good time?"
"Right now, I welcome any interruption and all visitors," Lenala replied.
Vilarth was dozing and seemed unaware of his presence.
"Perfect, then, I come as a willing distraction! Did you get a chance to
discuss my idea with your beautiful golden lady?"
"Yes, I did. She was intrigued with it. I'm not sure if she understood the
whole concept of art or painting, but she was curious about it," Lenala
replied. She had spend nearly half a candlemark trying to explain her what
painting was and why people had them. Vilarth had understood the part that
it was supposed to be compliment to be immortalized with paints to a
canvas. Flattery always worked well with golds.
"That's great news!" Eioval beamed with excitement. "So she'll let me work
during the Hatching?"
"Yes, as long as you remind silent and don't get in the way," Lenala
replied and softened her words with smile. "Her conditions," she said
apologetically.
"Oh of course!" Eioval instantly agreed, hardly able to believe what he was
hearing. He had hoped, but not really believed he would be allowed this.
"No one will even know I'm there."
"Really?" Lenala sounded half sceptic and half amused. She turned pointedly
to look at the Stands, rising tier after tier from the sands. There was no
place in Hatching Cavern, where you could actually _hide_.
"Well no one will be looking at the silly harper with the sketchbook, will
they?" Eioval grinned. With eggs hatching all over the place, he doubted
anyone would give him more than a second glance.
"Well, true in that regard, everyone will paying attention to the
candidates and eggs," Lenala admitted.
"Exactly," Eioval nodded, eyes drifting to the dozing gold. "Do you mind if
I sit here for a bit now and do some sketches of her and the eggs?"
"Go ahead. I'm curious to see such a great artist at work," Lenala replied
coyly. He was good looking.
"Excellent," Eioval beamed as he pulled out his sketchbook and a pencil,
sitting down with his feet dangling down from the stand. "Mind if I sketch
you at work as well?" He figured he could always try how far he could get
with this.
"Love to," Lenala flashed him a smile. She was trying to flirt with him,
didn't he notice that? ** And stop laughing Vilarth!**
"Great, it's not often I get to draw such beauty at work," Eioval replied
with a satisfied smile. He wasn't flirting back per se, but he was a
free-spirit and did not care to keep his thoughts inside. Had he realized
the goldrider was actually flirting though, he might have watched his
choice of words a bit more carefully.
"Can I brush my hair first?" Lenala asked, her hand going up to touch her
dark curls.
"Brush it? But it's beautiful like this!" Eioval looked honestly shocked.
"Do you think so?" she gave him her big eyed-look.
"Oh yes, it's perfect, a little mussed and all," Eioval nodded seriously as
he set to working on his sketches.
"Artists," Lenala muttered under her breath. ** Quite oblivious to
everything else but their art.**
"Hmm?" Eioval hardly seemed to notice as his hand moved the pencil around
deftly, creating quick images of the sleeping golden dragon.
"Nothing, Lenala said with resigned sigh.
