Escorting his patient out, Telemon stopped to look at the waiting hall. He was almost done with the day's appointments. "Next!" he called, "Parale and baby?" he consulted the list. Ah, she had recently given birth. These were usually the most pleasant kind of appointments.

Carrying Parys with one arm, she had a small carisak in the other. It held just-in-case supplies. Parale knew that Parys was healthy and feeding well, but it was good to see the healer anyway to make sure everything was going as it should. She'd never had one of these after-children checkups before so she wondered what sort of thing he might ask. Walking forward, she nodded to the Master Healer. "That's us, sir."

"Take a seat," he guided her to a chair. "So, how are you two doing?" he asked.

Settling down into the chair and shuffling Parys, she set down the carisak to free her other arm. "Oh we're fine. She's finally into a sleeping schedule so we're grateful for that." Wishing her mother could be here to see her grandchild, Parale tried to focus on the conversation with Telemon instead. She had a habit of watching Parys and ignoring the rest of the world sometimes.

"What's her name?" Telemon asked with a smile and nod at her words.

"Oh? Umm we decided to call her Parys," she offered quickly. At the sound of her name, the baby's head moved a bit.

"Parys," he wrote it into her file. " A lovely name. Can you please undress her? You can leave the diapers on. I need to weigh her and take her height," Telemon asked.

It took a few moments and Parale was very careful about it. Thankfully it wasn't very cold in Sunstone so Parys wasn't too grumpy about it. When she was ready, Parale offered her to the healer, watching him carefully through the process.

Telemon handled the baby with easiness of long practice. "I know it's bit chilly, sweetheart," he crooned when she placed her on the scale. He wrote up the numbers and tried to measure her height. She kept kicking so it wasn't very accurate but it did gave him idea of her growth rate. Then he tested her infant reflexes before giving her back to her mother. "She's growing well," he noted with a smile.

"Oh well that's good to know. She certainly eats enough," Parale quipped proudly. She moved to redress Parys, taking her time about the chore.

"Her belly button is also healing well," Telemon said. "Is there anything you want to know, ask from me?" he asked.

"Well I mean...what should I expect? Are there any common issues she might have this young? Anything I should be watching for?" Parale had fostered children, but none of them had ever come to her this young.

"Babies this young rarely even get sick. Most common issues is stomach pains or colic. Roseola is also possible if she's around older children much, but that's rarely serious. Trust your instinct, you'll notice if something is wrong. If you need advice concerning care or rearing her, you can always ask Parme. I'm here for medical problems," Telemon replied.

"What is roseola?" she asked curiously, not ever having heard it be called that.

"It's a common infection in babies and toddlers, most get it between age of 6 to 24 months. It's sometimes also called three-day's fever or the sixth disease. The first symptom is fever, usually lasts three days, sometimes up to five. Then you have symptoms similar with common cold: runny nose, swollen glands. Sometimes there's mild diarrhea. After the fever comes the rash," Telemon answered, sounding little bit like lecturing an apprentice.

"Ew...Do they usually get over that pretty quick then?" That sounded like something she did not want to touch her baby. Still, Parys was around older children-namely her sisters-so she supposed it was possible.

"Yes," Telemon smiled reassuringly. "The whole illness only lasts sevenday or less. Some have it so mild that parents don't even realize that their children are sick."

"Ah okay and can it occur more than once or they just typically have it once and are done?" She wasn't familiar with
things that could effect younger children so Parale needed to ask for this knowledge.

"Once you have had it, you're safe from it for rest of your life."

"Oh that's good then." She looked at Parys, remembering what it was like to live after the Plague and sincerely hoped her babe would be safe from anything like that.

"If you have any concerns about her health, don't hesitate to seek me out. Better safe than sorry," Telemon said with a wink of understanding.
