Other than the dust up around L'cor and his little Tonuth, the rest of
the greetings had gone well. They were coming to the end of the line
and a young woman with her new green.

"Congratulations," she smiled.

"Thank you, M'lady," Malyna smiled as she nodded her head in deference
to the Weyrwoman and Weyrleader. "I couldn't be more pleased that
Cayleryth chose me."

"She's lovely," N'vanik said. They all were. Seeing all the happy new
pairs had brought his good mood back, although he was still going to
find Corowal later.

"Thank you," Malyna replied, her smile big and full of excitement.
"The Clutch was an excellent one," she praised the pair of leaders.

Cyradis smiled at the young woman. "We're very happy your lifemate
found you in our clutch." She could hear her own lifemate's happy
thoughts at the good outcome. All the hatchlings had found there
'mates. That hadn't always been the case.

"You've Stood before, haven't you?" N'vanik thought he remembered
seeing her on the Sands before.

Malyna smiled, nodding her head to both of them. "Yes, I've Stood a
few times." Having been weyrbred she'd be allowed to Stand many times,
though in those early years she'd been more interested in other things
than Impressing a dragon, so it was little wonder she hadn't Impressed
then.

"I'm glad this time it was finally my time." Malyna added, putting a
hand on Cayleryth's head. The little green's eyes closing slightly and
whirling with happiness at the touch.

Cyradis knew a little of the girl's recent history and if she
remembered correctly this one had been prevented from Standing several
times by either illness or injury. "We'll we're very glad you were
healthy enough to Stand this time," she smiled.

"She really is a beauty. Would she mind a scratch from the
Weyrleader?" N'vanik bent toward the tiny green.

"Thank you. I am glad too," Malyna replied to the Weyrwoman's words.

}:I like a scratch.:{ Cayleryth told her rider, bumping into Malyna in
her attempts to push closer to the Weyrleader.

Malyna chuckled, "Oh, she is already basking in your attention,
Weyrleader." Malyna shook her head as the little green stretched her
neck, eager for the attention.

N'vanik scratched Caylerth's eye ridges, smiling at her eagerness.
"Hello there."

Cayleryth eagerly turned her head to allow him easier access.

}:I like this one,:{ she told her rider with a happy note to her voice.

Malyna couldn't help but smile. "She likes you very much, sir."

Cyradis grinned at the picture and then touched N'vanik on the arm.
They still had a long line of Weyrlings to greet and then the Hatching
Feast to get to.

"Well feed her well," she smiled at the young woman. "Then we'll see
you at the feast. Remember, you need to eat too."

"Thank you," she added, beaming a wide smile at them both.
