"C'baz isn't it?" Cyradis said as she stepped over to a new weyrling
to a lovely little blue. "Congratulations!"

They'd already met over half the new weyrlings and all of them were
being well taken care of by the Weyrling staff.

"Thank you, ma'am," C'baz said with a bob of his head. He was busy
giving the little blue, whose head lay happily against his chest, a
double handed scratch. "And thanks to your gold for my Pawtinath. Your
bronze as well, Weyrleader."

"You're welcome," N'vanik said.

}:I'm happy to provide.:{

N'vanik swallowed a laugh, wondering if Loseth had just made a dirty
joke.

Cyradis looked at N'vanik with half a smile knowing a private joke
between a rider and his dragon when she saw one. She shook her head
and look back at the young man.

"His name is very similar to Panitath's maybe that is a good sign,"
she smiled. "I wish you all the best in your training."

"Thank you, ma'am. I have every intention of making you both proud,"
the Weyrling grinned. "Though I'm sure your dragons both have so many
offspring by now, it's hard to keep track of them all."

"That's why we keep records," N'vanik half-joked. "But every hatchling
is special, and I keep a special eye on Loseth's weyrlings."

"I'm sure you will," Cyradis said to his first response and chuckled
at N'vanik. She could still see that Impression glow that seemed to
infuse the young man with joy at his new link. These meetings always
brought that first joy back to her full force. She reached out to give
the little blue eye ridge and good scritch.

If the little blue could purr like a feline, he would have as he leaned
into the goldrider's experienced touch. C'baz smiled lovingly down at
him. "I'm sure one day it will be hard to remember when he was this
small." He couldn't believe something so small and precious would one
day dwarf him!

"Sooner than you think. They grow so fast," N'vanik said. it was
almost unbelievable that for a brief time he'd been able to carry
Loseth. "So enjoy it while you can."

"Eat and sleep," she repeated from her own weyrling lessons. "That's
how dragon's grow." Cyradis ran a loving hand over the tiny blue's
head. "Who knows, maybe Pawtinath here will someday search us out new
candidates for another clutch." There was that potential with a blue
and it certainly couldn't hurt to plant that seed in his rider early
on. Then he'd be on the look out for any sign in his lifemate.

"We certainly will try out best, ma'am," C'baz smiled, his chest puffing
out a little at the thought that one day he and his blue might be able
to contribute to their Weyr in some way. He heard the faint rumble of
the tiny dragonette's stomach, which was echoed sympathetically in his
own. "Sorry about that. I think I'm hungry... I mean _we're_ hungry...
Or rather Pawtinath is probably hungry." It was so hard to tell this
early into their bond!

N'vanik chuckled. "We'll leave you to feed him. And don't forget to
feed yourself, too. He'll probably sleep soon and you should enjoy a
bit of the Hatching Feast."

Cyradis let N'vanik guide her toward the next pair but couldn't help
looking back at the new blue and his rider. **Pawtinath, Nice.** She
nodded with a parental smile.
