Description: Dysali's green Lillyth Rises for the first time and is caught by brown Girifith.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 9, day 6 of Turn 3
Lightning cracked overhead and Dysali jumped. She was bent over some hides, studying formations. She was not eligible for a flying Wing for another whole Turn, nearly, but she was bound and determined to be ready for it.
She pulled another hide free and swore softly as she felt the skin part on her thumb - that one had had an edge to it.
From her couch, Lillyth suddenly woke up, almost snarling in response to Dysali's pain.
Startled, the young greenrider rose to her feet and went toward her dragon, knocking hides to the floor. She froze for a moment when she looked into her beautiful dragon's eyes, and found them whirling bright orange ( I think its orange for lust?!! Or is it red?) with an emotion she soon felt crashing over her.
}:I have to fly.:{ was the strangled thought of the green as she launched herself from her couch, to the ledge and out into the free sky, despite the rain.
Dysali stood there in shock for a few heartbeats before her training came back to her. She was Rising! Lillyth was Rising! The Flight room... that's where she should go.
Eyes wide with fear and nervousness were bright as she stumbled from her Weyr down to the flight room. It had to be Menanth that caught her... oh please let it be..
She could not get through to Lillyth at all, other than to keep her from turning into a glutton; the green dragon had ignored the herd beasts and was flying higher and higher, males of bronze, brown, and blue soaring after her.
And then, she lost herself in the dragonlust, unaware she'd managed to find her way, and riders of all kinds were coming toward her, surrounding her.
Z'al was just about to curl up for a bit when he heard Nyinth in the back of his mind. The brown was scanning the sky from his ledge.
}:Lillyth rises:{ was all the brown said before he launched with a great sweep of his wings. It took Z'al only a moment before he dashed from his weyr to make it to the flight room. He watched others as they moved bout his friend and with the part of his mind, not quite lost yet, he moved as close as can be to help her. Though he wasn't sure why.
}:_She_ rises.:{ I'lan gave Naath a perplexed look for a moment.
}:Lillyth, and you like hers. I will make her mine, for you!:{ With those words, Naath took off from his ledge, joining the male dragons already chasing.
}:A green is rising,:{ Girifith called to his rider.
**You silly brown, greens rise every day. You wake me up to tell me _this_?** B'ram's sleepy mind replied.
}:This one is young and pretty, and I want her to be mine,:{ his dragon replied firmly.
**You're mighty determined. I guess that means I should wake up.**
B'ram groaned as he sat up and reached for his shirt. At least he hadn't thought far enough ahead to take off his boots when he flopped into bed!
Dysali didn't know what was happening, except that she and Lillyth were both filled with some great, deep need. Limited to I'lan and what she'd shared with D'ren since he became a Senior Weyrling, she knew where this was going, but at the moment, she didn't how to get there.
She felt bodies close, two of them familiar - Z'al and I'lan - but no D'ren. Dysali's anguished cry faded into a snarl of anger as Lillyth went through the same thoughts.
Lillyth soared higher still, taunting her suitors. She was pleased to see a bronze among them. He was like _her_ bronze. But where was he?
The one she wanted? Roaring in anger, she lost some of her momentum and Naath gained on her.
When the young green realized one of _them_ was about to catch her, she called on one more sprint and dodged away. She wanted something from them, but on her terms! Not their's!
There was a second brown one coming later, but fast. He was older and more experienced than the rest, although the brown she knew as Nyinth was familiar, like the bronze one. Which one was worthy of _her_?
Naath bugled in challenge, this beautiful green. How could she tease him like this? The bronze pumped his mighty wings harder still. She would be his. Girifith knew ther bronze had an advantage on him in strength and size, but the older brown was experienced. He knew how to fly a green well. Using every trick learned in his turns he closed in on the enchanting green. }:You don't want them, beauty. I will fly you right!:{ Lillyth's head turned to look over her shoulder at Girifith, the experienced brown. He might be worthy of her. The need within her was overpoweringly strong now, so she gave one last challenge, her whirling eyes looking between Naath and Nyinth, before an updraft carried her within reach of her third closest pursuer, Girifith. On the ground, Dysali was one with her dragon. Her mind pulled toward all three of the closest riders to her, as her dragon weighed the choice. But it was the air that defeated her and she felt arms go around her at the same time she felt her dragon well and truly caught. "Come with me, beautiful," B'ram whispered insync with his triumphant brown, "Let me show you how to fly..."
