G'nir

Kjarliheth was about to Rise again. She shone like a sparkling green
emerald, tossing her head proudly and calling the males to her. Aileyan
watched and fisted her hands. She was hoping very hard that she would
choose Kalamath this time.

Nirreth preened and tried to catch the petite green's attention. She was
lovely beyond words!

M'shan was feeling nervous, Juth had not chased many times yet. But the
green and her equally petite rider were worth the effort.

Sh'lua almost missed the flight when Galerith decided to give her a
chase, arriving among the last to the scene.

**Kjarliheth, eh?** J'nev thought as he slipped through the waiting on
lookers to stand as close to Aileyan as he could. His bronze had caught
the green before. It had been their first successful mating, and
Ankioth had his heart set on winning again! J'nev, for his part, was
already undressing Aileyan with his eyes, remembering just how beautiful
she had looked... before she slapped him, at least.

There was one bronzerider in the circle who had a very personal interest
in winning this one. His heart was already pounding in his chest. He
tried to maneuver himself to catch her eye. **Look at me, sweetheart,**
he silently pleaded. U'kaiah wanted Aileyan to see him, not only for
reassurance, but in the hope that her feelings just might influence her
green's choice. **Pick me.**

Aileyan met U'kaiah's gaze and smiled at him.

"Lucky bronzes get all the pretty ones," Sh'lua murmured, noticing the
exchange of looks. He found himself standing next to his brother in the
circle.

"Isn't G'wen pretty? I remember yours catching Neanth," M'shan replied
with a snort.

"Oh,yes he is," Sh'lua said with soft remisient look in his face.

Just then Kjarliheth decided to launch in the air with defiant cry.

**Go, love, fly well,** Aileyan urged her and got lost when the mating
bond was flooded with the dragonlust.

Bronze wings beating, Nirreth took the air right in the wake of the
green. }: Mine! :{ he roared a challenge.

}: Not exactly. My choice! :{ Kjarliheth reminded and taunted him. }:
You all have to catch me first! :{ she was quick and agile green.

}:No! I will catch her! She's been mine before!:{ Ankioth cried,
showing his inexperience as he put on a burst of speed.

Kalamath took an approach more like his lifemate did with hers. He hung
back just a bit, straying close to the front, but letting the other
males try to win her with brute force. He called to her enticingly,
}:Do you remember when we flew together, pretty Kjarliheth? We flew
well together! Don't you want to choose me again? We could have so
much fun!:{

}: You have to catch me first! :{ Kjarliheth replied to Kalamath's
calls. She darted around until she find a cloud bank to dive into.

Nirreth tried to follow her but lost sight of her inside the cloud.

Galerith didn't fell into that trap, instead he started to circle around
the clouds to spot where she would come out. Juth followed his lead,
realizing the blue was far more experienced than him.

Ankioth was lost in the fog, searching in vain for the green, while down
below Kalamath waited, watching for any sign of movement and just
waiting for her to dive down out of the clouds.

Kjarliheth had almost closed her wings for quick decent when she
appeared out of the cloud, beneath it.
She spotted Kalamath but did not take any moves to avoid him. Now the
only question was, was the bronze fast enough. For Galerith had spotted her
too and he was flying fast to catch her. Juth was left too far behind to be
part of the race.

Kalamath was waiting for such an opportunity. As soon as that flash of
green broke through the clouds, the bronze used the energy he had saved
by not trying to out maneuver her and put it all towards one great burst
of speed. As he drew closer to Kjarliheth in the skies above, on the
ground, U'kaiah reached out to Aileyan, just waiting for the green to
make her choice.

Kjarliheth could have still twisted away had she wanted, but she had
already made up her mind.

Only half a dragonlenght behind the bronze, Galerith trumpeted his
disappointment: }: So close! :{ Indeed, he was so close he had to do a
quick dip to avoid colliding to the pair that was now twining their
necks and tails.

Ankioth came to the sudden realization that the Flight was over while
still searching for the green in the clouds. He dove down and saw the
green entangled with a rival bronze and bugled his frustration, sexual
and at his own inexperienced mistake. Next time, he would know better!

J'nev just watched the greenrider fall into his Wingleaders arms with a
sneer. **I could be better than him, if you'd just give me a chance.**

"I told you so," Sh'lua said, watching U'kaiah carry away the petite
greenrider. "Come on, bro, let's get ourselves company for the rest of
the day," he slapped M'shan's back.

"One day," G'nir murmured and went to pick up a girl for himself too.
