Devyn

"Oooohhhhhhhh...." S'vin burried his face in his arms after pushing
his lunch away from him.

Beside him, Catrien tried not to laugh whilst patting him on the back
and G'wen whispered to the girls opposite them, "he was involved in a
Flight this morning--"

"Not_just_a Flight but Kerra's Flight!" S'vin moaned before plopping
his chin on his arms and looking woefully at his friends.

Devyn exhaled a little huff of a hair, the movement making the strands
of hair around her face to billow out. Slowly, ever so slowly she
tried to ease out the laughter that had built up inside of her, but
finally she lost control and burst out into high peals of laughter.
The greenrider knew S'vin enough to know that him being in a
__woman's_ mating flight was one of his worst nightmares.

"Awww, poor S'vin!"

The laughter in the group was contagious and Delria couldn't stand it any
longer. Giving in to fits of giggles she said, "Poor S'vin, the rider of the
Weyr's studliest blue!"

"Stop it, all of you! It's_not_funny!" S'vin swatted G'wen over the
head and lightly punched Delria on the arm.

"Erm....yeah it is!" G'wen swallowed funny when he was hit but
continued laughing at the look on S'vin's face.

Catching her breath Delria asked, "Was it really all that bad? I mean
do you even remember any of it?" In her mind if he didn't actually remember the
act then why let it bother him so much?

G'wen grinned at Delria. "It's not even like Kadeth won! He's just
freaking out of the thought of having--even if it was for only a few
moments--lustful thoughts about a woman."

"Yes, Faranth help him the day that Kadeth actually catches a girl's
green," Catrien added, still giggling.

"STOP IT! This isn't funny!" S'vin look at the four greenriders and
huffed over the unfairness of it all.

Devyn rolled her eyes and shook her head, "You didn't even WIN?!" The
woman slapped her palm to her forehead, amazed at S'vin and just how
strongly his aversion to women really was.

"I don't think he was even close," Catrien added, frowning at her
friend. "Wonder what you'd be like if you won one of G'wen's
Flights?"

"Oh, don't even go there, girlfriend!" Both boys shuddered at the thought.

Delria again erupted in a fit of laughter. The thought of her two friends in bed
together was too much. "Nice, Cat. Now they're _both_ going to be plagued with
nightmares about that scenario," she said cheering on her fellow weyrling.

Before Catrien could continue, G'wen leaned over and clamped a hand
over her mouth. "Please, really...I'm trying to eat here." He sat
back and waved a hand over his stew. "And besides, what would happen
if Kadeth were to catch any of_your_greens, eh?

"If Kadeth caught _my_ green S'vin would reconsider his aversion to
women real fast." Devyn pursed her lips at S'vin in a mock kiss before
shooting him a teasing wink.

The bluerider blanched and looked like he was going to burst into
tears. "I thought you guys were my friends," was all he muttered.

Beside him, G'wen rolled his eyes at the girls opposite. Now that he
had survived a Flight he knew it wasn't as bad as S'vin was making
out.

She ignored the comment about Kadeth catching her green Camieth. It was much too
soon in Delria's opinion for her to even begin thinking about those
times. Instead she moved on and began to rub S'vin's back reassuringly.

"Now, S'vin, we're just having a bit of fun. It's not like any of us
have a real choice anyways. The dragons have the final say." She had
expected this type of reaction from G'wen but not S'vin. Still though,
she hoped he wasn't hurt too deeply.

"I dunno..." added G'wen teasing, "every time I see Kadeth, he's cuddled
up to some different girl's green. Makes you wonder..." He winked
slowly at Delria and Dervyn as S'vin clamped his hands over his face
in horror.

Devyn shook her head at the antics of her friends even as she placed
her hands on the table and pushed away from the roughly hewn service,
"Well kids, I have to be on my way. Hopefully I can catch sight of a
certain Weyrlingmaster." She winked at the group. Since her dinner
date with J'darin the bronzerider hadn't been far from her mind.

"J'darin?!" G'wen looked at her, open mouthed.

"Ewwww!" S'vin echoed what both boys were thinking.

"There you go, S'vin, see you_could_have Impressed green and then
ended up in bed with your Weyrlingmaster!" Catrien nodded her head.
"So thank your lucky stars and stop whining about already!"

Devyn laughed, "Yes J'darin! You're just jealous!" Sticking her tongue
out at her friends, the greenrider gave a wave and left, being
completely serious about trying to catch a moment with the
Weyrlingmaster.

Delria made a face. Honestly, J'darin wasn't terrible looking but..uck,
her _Weyrlingmaster_? She just couldn't see it and was thankful for it.
That would make classes a lot less awakard. "Well, you have fun with
that, Devyn. Whatever puts the wind in your wings." Looking at the rest
of the group she continued, "We'll all end up with who we're supposed to.
In the meantime, who cares? Flights are flights and anything else...well,
whatever. I've gotta check on Camieth. See you guys later!"
