R'enh

R'enh

It took a few moments for Meledei to get her breath after it was over.
It had been a very long and very intense experience. As a weyrling,
they had been encouraged to have experience sexually and now she could
fully understand why. The flight was made much more pleasurable
without having to worry about losing her virginity. Of course, she
knew who won, though to be honest she was also surprised. She had
honestly expected Z'ku to be the one. Still, the dragons were the ones
who decided and she had no say in the matter.

Meledei lay upon her side, her limbs still entangled, so she gingerly
unwound from him and lay upon her back, her breathing still a little
heavy, but slowly calming. "So that's what a flight's like." She
murmured, only half to herself.

His mind reeled as he wound back into himself. The experience of a
gold flight was like nothing else. It wasn't something he could
explain to another who'd never experienced it. Truthfully he wouldn't
really want to try. He completely lost himself in the experience and
became Mnoranth. Now that he was back he felt instantly concerned, he
knew he hadn't been gentle.

"Are you alright?"

"Oh sure, I'm fine." Meledei assured him as she pulled her arms up and
rest them under her head. "It's just her first flight so I wasn't
exactly sure what it was like. Definitely intense."

He propped his head up on his elbow and looked down at her. "Much more
so than a green flight," he said. If his memory was right the flight
had been spectacular and a smug and satiated bronze assured him he was
right. He reached down to pull a cover up over them both. His mind and
body still echoing with the aftermath of the flight. "Are you sure
you're ok?" She seemed a little blase for just having experienced a
flight.

Meledei managed a chuckle. "I am. I promise." And she smiled, then
turned over to face him. "I hope it wasn't too bad, considering it was
our first time and all."

He almost chuckled but only almost. His fingers slid down the outside
of her arm to her fingers and lifted them to her lips. "It was
inspired," he said and kissed them again. "You controlled her
beautifully and the flight was," perhaps glorious would seem too over
effusive. "wonderful."

He rolled toward her and pulled her to him a little possessively his
actions unconsciously mimicking Mnoranth's with Elleth. "But we could
try it again if you'd like more to remember." The last few words were
breathed against her neck. He was ready if she was and more than
willing to show her he could dance equally well between the sheets.

Meledei was tempted -very, very tempted. The intensity was gone, but
there was still the lingering of the memory and there was the fact that
there was a rather nice looking dragonrider ready to do it all over
again.

"I hope you don't take this the wrong way," Meledei's voice was soft.
She didn't want to insult him, but some dragonriders just didn't
understand why she made the choices she did. "And I promise you, it's
very enticing but..."

This wasn't his first flight even though it _was_ hers. He didn't let
any of his own disappointment reach his face or communicate itself in
any way. She was probably half in love with someone and he wouldn't
dream of ruining her first flight. She was a sweet kid and
up until now had been like a little sister. So his caressing stilled
and he kissed her forehead. "Of course," he said. "You don't have to
explain." The epitome of good flight etiquette he unwound from her and
then sat up on the edge of the edge of the bed with his back turned
willing his body into obedience.

"It's nothing against you, I promise." Had she offended him? Meledei
couldn't tell when all she could see was his back. She turned, drawing
her legs over the side and picking up her tunic that had been tossed
during the frantic pacing of the flight. She pulled it over her, then
began the search for the rest of her clothing.

He reached down and picked up his trousers. Then pulled them on as he
heard her moving around. He stood to fasten them and turned back to
her. "Meledei," he said to get her attention. "I want your friendship
far more than another tumble."

That made her feel a lot better and she grinned as she secured the ties
to her trousers. "Good. I'm glad you understand. Or, at least, are
willing to accept it. Most weyrbred around here think I'm nuts or call
me hold bred."

"No worries," he smiled. "If you love someone or even just think you
might, you make choices that some others may think are foolish. But
don't let them make you feel that way." He didn't want to go into his
own past but then who would expect a bronze rider to be in love at any
point. Infatuated? Lustful? Randy? Probably, but love sick?

"Oh, I'm not in love or anything." Meledei shook her head. Some
dragonriders didn't see anything wrong with sharing themselves even
when they _were_ in love or even weyrmated. Meledei was not one of
them.

He just nodded, not really believing her but she was entitled to her
own privacy and he wouldn't push. "I'll be here for you Meledei," he
said. "These next few months will be new and fun and a great deal of
work. But I'll be your partner through whatever you need me to do.
Alright?"

"All right." Meledei smiled and moved forward so she could give the
bronzerider a hug. "And thanks."

He nodded and returned the hug. Then he pulled back and winked. "Don't
miss your next lesson, only a couple of months to get ready for that
first dance at the hatching."
