G'nir

G'nir

When U'kaiah saw the greenrider claim a seat towards the back of the
dinning cavern, he was going to leave her be. After all, as much as
they were going to know each other as of late, except for a few times,
they really hadn't associated in public. He wasn't sure why that was.
The bronzerider was usually good friends with the women he slept with on
a fairly regular basis. Perhaps it was time he took the initiative, he
decided, and be friends out in the open as well. After all, they were
doing nothing to be ashamed of!

"May I sit with you?"

"Sure you can," Aileyan said, her face and tone neutral.

He hesitated a moment. She didn't seem unhappy to see him, but she
didn't seem pleased, either. They had fun the last time they were
together. Not just tumbling in the bedfurs, but flirting and talking as
well. U'kaiah could not figure her out. Which made him even more
determined to get to know her outside the bedroom. "Thank you." He
slid onto the seat next to her. "Do you prefer to eat alone? Or did I
just catch you at a good time?"

"I often eat with my friends, but they have different schedules today,"
Aileyan replied.

"Then I _did_ catch you at a good time." U'kaiah grabbed the basket of
rolls and offered her one. "You know, we should plan to have dinner
sometime. Since we're friends, and all."

Well, it was both flattering and little bit intimitating... Were their
relationship turning into something serious? Did she want it to? So, she
hesitated to answer, not sure what she wanted.

G'nir had noted the petite greenrider right from the day he joined the
wing. She was beautiful and had kind of reserved air around her that he
just found irrisistable. He had just looked for oppotunity to approach
her.
He spotted her sitting alone and thought his chance had finally come.
But after he had gotten his meal, he saw for his disappointment that U'kaiah
had beaten him and gotten the seat he had planned to take. There was free
seat next to his and G'nir's eyes narrowed. He would just show that
upstart young bronzerider how ladies were won over.

"Hello Aileyan, do you mind if I sit here?" he pointed the free seat,
"It's packed here today."

"Well, I can't really forbid you, can I?" Aileyan said, her tone more
wary than with U'kaiah.

"Oh, hello U'kaiah," G'nir greeted U'kaiah as an afterthought, althoug
the slight was deliberate.

"G'nir," the Wingleader nodded, rather annoyed that the bronzerider
chose that moment to interrupt them. He had really wanted to hear what
Aileyan had to say.

G'nir noticed his annoyance and it pleased him. "Did I interupt
something?" he asked with sweet tone, directing his words to Aileyan.

Aileyan was annoyed too, but her face was neutral mask and eyes veiled,
showing nothing of what she felt.

When she didn't answer, U'kaiah took the initiative. "Not at all. I
just sat down myself."

G'nir nodded and flashed his most charming smile at Aileyan, which left
her totally unaffected and cold. "Have you any plans for tonite? I would
love to get you know better. I've wanted it since I first saw you."

U'kaiah decided to take a sip of wine before he could laugh out loud at
the thought of Aileyan going home with G'nir that night. He knew from
experience there was no guarantee she'd be going home with _him_, but he
was pretty sure G'nir was going to end up being rejected. The
bronzerider had leaned Aileyan well enough by now to she was not that
easy to charm. Still, he couldn't wait to watch the guy try! "We don't
have any plans, if that was what you were wondering." Why not help him
along a little?

"Perhaps I have plans," Aileyan said, her tone turning acid. Not again,
what was wrong with these bronzeriders? G'nir was handsome yes, but
looks never really mattered to her. He was also older, about decade older
that U'kaiah. Besides, Aileyan already had a bed partner. Sleeping around
with several men was just a good way to mess up your life. Ednan had been
good example.
He played around with two women and end up with none.

Aileyan turned to U'kaiah, flashed him a warm smile, and said: "To
answer your earlier question, before we got interrupted, yes, I think
that sounds great."

** Ouch, ** Even G'nir caught the barb.

"Well, maybe tonight, if your plans fall through, we could have a
drink?" U'kaiah suggested, ignoring G'nir completely.

"I really do have something to do tonight," Aileyan sounded apologetic.
"It's not improtant nor urgent, but I've been postponing it long
enough." She was also ignoring the other bronzerider.

"I understand. You know where to find me, if you find you have time."
U'kaiah wanted her to know the invitation was open. He wanted G'nir to
know an invitation was made too.

"Restday would be good," Aileyan replied.
