Something Wrong

Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 7, day 11 of Turn 5

Zelle's eyes opened and blurred immediately. She sat up and waited for them to clear only to cock her head at the sight. Rillith had flown and the dragon who had caught her was lifemate to a man she didn't know.

T'kob was staring at the ceiling, Embereth's emotions still coursing through his veins. It had been a while since he'd won a flight, and the bronze was quite pleased with himself, short as the chase was. T'kob turned his head when he felt movement and gave a nod and polite smile to the woman next to him. "Hello, I'm T'kob."

"Zelle." She relaxed a bit, but kept herself propped upon her elbow. She knew the name. "Well well, bronzes must really like my Rillith. They seem to chase her more than they chase most greens."

"She must be a fine green if she caught the attention of Embereth." T'kob got a good look at his partner, and his lingering desires were definitely deflated by what he saw. She was thin, with dark circles under her eyes. Her skin was sallow, her lips cracked, and she had an overall sickly look about her. "Are you feeling all right?"

"I'm fine." Zelle rolled over and stretched, her ribs pushing against her skin. Then she sat up. "Could go for a drink though." Or more of what had just occurred, but riders weren't always willing and had he been, he probably would have indicated so beforehand.

T'kob stood, his nudity not an issue as he walked over to the small table in the corner of the cot. "I'll pour you a glass of water."

"I was thinking something a mite stronger." Zelle laughed, but the sound was hoarse. She stood and took the glass when he walked back with it. Zelle made a face, but downed the water like a good little girl. "Well that was fun."

"The water or the flight sex?" T'kob couldn't tell from her voice if she was being sarcastic or serious.

Zelle laughed again. "The sex of course." Zelle shrugged and handed back the water. "Ah well, fun can only last so long."

T'kob watched her and she walked naked towards her tunic that had been tossed by the door. He noticed bruises now on her back and shoulders, some yellowed and feint, some fresher. He wondered how many new bruises would show up because of him. He felt guilty, her body had obviously gone through some sort of trama, or she was recovering from an illness. He couldn't take back his rough handling of her during the flight, but perhaps now... "Would you like me to walk you back to your weyr? Embereth seems happy to be curling up with your girl right now so she can't give you a lift."

"Walking back to my weyr will be rather difficult." Zelle chuckled but the laugh seemed hollow. She wriggled into her tunic then swiped her trousers and undergarments from teh floor. She eyed the Weyrlingmaster, a smile upon her lips though it made her face look even thinner. "There's no stair access."

"Oh." She had one of the seaside weyrs then. "Well, you're welcome to get refreshed in my weyr if you wish until they're ready to separate. I've a private tub..."

"Really." Zelle tilted her head and regarded the bronzerider. Then her lips stretched into a skeletal smile. "I'll take you up on it." Maybe he'd even join her - Zelle wouldn't mind a bit more pleasant company, and they could take their time and savour the pleasure if they so desired.

T'kob finished getting dressed and held the door open for her. She looked even more sickly out in the full light. She might not admit to being sick, but _something_ was wrong with her. It wasn't really his place to comment though. He didn't know her, nor anything about her. Her wingleader had to have noticed her condition, and none of the wingleaders at Dolphin Cove were likely to let it go if she was a danger to her wing. That being the case... "You can take your time in the bath, I've got classes all afternoon with the Weyrlings."

"Let me know if you want to do anything before hand, relax you." Zelle offered as she sauntered by him. She wobbled a bit midstep but caught herself and shook her head as she murmured. "Clutz."

"I'll be fine. Let's just focus on our steps. The flight hasn't completely got us to rights just yet." He said, though he thought her slip had more to do with whatever ailed her than dragonlust.

"You got that right." Zelle could have another go that was for certain. She tried to pay more attention to what she was doing, to where her feet were placed. She succeeded for the most part, but her frame was so fragile looking a thin wind could knock her over.

T'kob was finally able to guide Zelle into his weyr. He started a bath for her, and left as soon as he was able. He couldn't believe the condition of that girl. He might look into her wing assignment and speak to her Wingleader. Riding gear could sometimes hide alot of abuse and if he didn't realize her state, could be putting the wing at risk.
