Private Bath

Writers: Eimi, Paula
Date Posted: 19th December 2009

Characters: Aileyan, U'kaiah
Description: U'kaiah knows of a bathing pool Aileyan could use...
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 6, day 9 of Turn 5

"I wouldn't go down to that bathing pool," U'kaiah said sicking a thumb in the direction he had just come from. "You're a little late to beat the rush, greenrider."

"Aww, I knew I took too long with Kjarliheth," Aileyan said. She hated crowded baths. She wasn't self-confident enough to expose herself to half of the weyr at once.

"Long day, isn't it," he smiled before rubbing a hand over his own crackdust covered face. "Cold as /between/, too."

"Yes, it is. I was so sure my nose would freeze and fell off," Aileyan said and touched her nosetip.

"Ah, well, let's see." He reached out a finger to gently touch the tip of it. "Yes, well, in my medical opinion, your nose can be saved if we get you into a nice warm, relaxing bathing pool."

"I thought you were harper, not a healer," Aileyan said. "And you said yourself that all pools are full."

"First aid training, my dear greenrider," U'kaiah replied with an expression of shock that she would doubt his credentials. "And I know of a bathing pool. It's small, but exclusive. Very few people are allowed access to it."

"Really? And where is this bath pool?" She asked, She could play the game too, if she wanted to. Right now, something relaxing sounded like a good idea. Of course, it would lead to something else (she had been rider too long to be that innocent). Well, it was one way to relax too.

"In my weyr," he shrugged innocently. "See, I was thinking... You need to warm your nose, and I have a spot right between my shoulder blades that I can't really scrub. I might need a little help. So if you'd be willing, well, that would be just lovely. And then I can scrub your back, or scrub anything else you're in the mood for."

"Sounds good to me. On one condition though. It can't take so long that I won't be in time to pick up my son from his fostermother," Aileyan replied and cocked her head.

It was probably entirely possible... "Well, how long would that be?"

"Two candlemarks from now," Aileyan said. That was enough for a bath and other activities.

"I think we could heat you up in that time," he grinned, liking the idea immensely.

"I'm sure of it," she replied, suddenly very much liking the idea. He reached for her hand and pulled her a little close. "Do you think a little wine would be totally inappropriate? I always find it relaxes me after a Fall."

"I think I skip the wine," Aileyan replied. Last thing she wanted was to smell of wine when she picked up her son.

"Not even a glass?" he asked with a slight pout. It had sounded like such a good idea - a nice soak in the bathing pool with a glass of wine and then...

"Nope," she replied.

"A little too... romantic?" He knew she liked to keep things simple, which didn't bother him. It was good to be straight forward about their expectations, but he was still learning her boundaries.

She just shrugged. "I get tipsy too easily and I like to be clearheaded when Ravyan is around."

"Well, perhaps we could save that idea for another day then." Getting a little tipsy wasn't always a bad thing. It could be quite fun in fact, though he could understand she had other responsibilities. "Come on then, Aileyan. Let's get clean. And maybe a little dirty."

The greenrider found herself laughing and walking away with him, his arm around her shoulders.
