Teseada

Teseada

Hazy memories came back to her as Teseada woke up. She could feel sleepy contentment from Onnyth as she curled up next to her mate. And that bit came back to her with a bump. If Teseada had had a choice in the matter, this would have been the last situation she had got herself into willingly, but Onnyth came first.

It was so tempting to just sneak out now while the bronzerider lay sleeping still. She could leave a note, claim she needed be somewhere, or bathe Onnyth, but that would be a poor excuse, and just because it was something he might consider, she couldn't lower herself to that level. But even so, she wasn't going to stay in the bed with him, he might get ideas.

So the goldrider slipped off the sheets, and gathered up her shirt, tossing it over her head. Try as she might, she couldn't keep from making some noise.

"I know I wasn't _that_ bad." Y'nub grumbled when he opened his eyes.

"It was a flight," stated Teseada flatly. There was no way she was going to let him get to her again, and no way he was going to use this flight to do that.

Y'nub stared at her. He could see the bruising he'd left on her neck and remembered that he hadn't been the gentlest with her. He'd just needed her so badly, had needed to be _with_ her again. He sat up. "I didn't hurt you, did I?

"I'm fine," came the reply as she found the rest of her clothes, dropping them on the bed to sort them out. Well she had to give that impression at least. She had enjoyed the experience, it had been rather intoxicating, until she really found out who it was that had shared it with her. That had been a shock to the system, bruises to her skin she'd recover from, but emotional ones, she had enough of those already.

He felt a slight stinging on his sides and looked down, seeing long thin scratch marks. He could feel them on his back as well as the air brushed against them. "Me too, thanks for asking."

"I was going to ask you once I was dressed." Her words were slightly muffled as she pulled an overshirt on. "You were still asleep."

"Yes, I noticed you seemed to be in quite the hurry to sneak out." Y'nub replied. "Some would call that poor post-flight etiquette you know."

"I wasn't going to just leave," she looked him in the eye for once. "I just wanted to get dressed before I spoke to you. Is there anything wrong with that?"

Y'nub gave a flicker of a smirk, "Afraid you wouldn't be able to control yourself?"

"You're not that irresistible."

"You didn't used to say that." he reminded her as he pulled the sheet of of himself and walked over to where most of his clothes lay scattered on the floor.

"Well I know better now, and so will Onnyth if I have any choice in the matter next time."

He pulled up his pants and turned towards her. "Teseada, there are no need for threats. You know you could have had far worse than me and Larweth for winners, and if you didn't think that then you would have prejudiced Onnyth against us already."

"It wasn't a threat, it was a promise."

Maybe it was the flightlust still flowing through him, but Y'nub couldn't seem to find the usual annoyance in him that helped buffer him against her tongue. "If you don't want me and Larweth participating in your future flights, just tell me. We'll leave."

"I couldn't care what you do right now." Well, there was just enough left of the flightlust that she half hoped he'd take he in his arms again and show her what she could have, she knew there had to be a better side to him after the fire, it was just so well hidden that it seemed to be barely worth searching for it.

"Right now is not the issue." He replied, drawing near her, "Right now, Onnyth is curled up next to Larweth, the bronze that she chose. Her rider is in a mating cot with the rider that she chose. The question is about next time. Do you want me to take Larweth away from Onnyth's next flight?"

Could she be that cruel? She'd threatened to order it before. But would they laugh at her for it. It was one thing to send her brother away, people would understand that, but to do this she might look like a spoilt little brat who didn't get her way. "I couldn't do that to Larweth, just because I have issues with his sharding rider."

"Good," Y'nub turned way and reached for his boots, slipping them on before giving the room a once over for anything else that might have been hastily discarded. "because Larweth doesn't intend to give Onnyth up now that he's claimed her."

"We'll see next time. She might change her mind yet."

Y'nub nodded and opened the door to leave. "I'll see you at the clutching, Teseada. Save me a spot."

As tempting as it was to come back at him with words like 'only if I have to', Teseada resisted that temptation. "I'm sure Onnyth will have Larweth tell you."

"I'm sure she will." Y'nub replied before closing the door behind him.
