"You didn't have to walk back with me, I just wanted to change shoes." Sorsha repeated as she slipped into the barracks with Ri'len. Everyone was on their way to dinner, but she'd gotten a blister on her heel and wanted to slip out of her boots and into some sandals.
"I wanted to." Ri'len didn't get much time with Sorsha, just the two of them, so he took every opportunity he could - even if it was in such a mundane activity as changing shoes. "Besides, what if it gets worse and you can't walk? Someone will have to be there to carry you."
Sorsha chuckled as they walked into the girls side of the barracks. "Oh my hero." she leaned up and gave her husband a quick kiss on the cheek.
"I do what I can." Ri'len returned the kiss with a tender one that lightly brushed over her lips.
She shivered slightly at the contact and her mind reached out quickly to Roseth. The green was sleeping, enjoying the last of the sun's rays, so Sorsha buried her head against Ri'len's chest and enjoyed a few moments pressed against him.
Ri'len hadn't expected her to stop and extend the embrace, but he certainly wasn't complaining. He let his arms slide around her and held her tight, chin rest upon upon the top of her head. "It feels nice to hold you."
"It feels nice to be held." Sorsha replied quietly, "Not too much longer and we can do more than just hold each other."
"I'm looking forward to that." Ri'len gave a half grin at the thought. "It will be nice to share one another again." Just another month.
Sorsha pulled away, grinning and shaking away the visuals that popped into her head. She was feeling a knot in her stomach that she knew would only lead to dangerous territory. "Come on, let's get my sandals and get back."
"Aye aye, captain." Ri'len placed his hand upon the small of her back and began to gently guide her to her cot. "Where are your sandals?"
"Under the bunk," She pointed to where they were tucked before she sat down on the edge of it and retrieved them. She slid off her boot and examined the small blister that had formed on the heel. "I knew it, oh well." She showed her husband the offending red welt and made a pout with her lips.
Ri'len tsked softly and took her foot in his hands, running his fingers over it though avoiding the sore. "Does it hurt?" He asked softly.
"Not now that the boot is off." she began before she started giggling, "Hey, that tickles!"
"Does it?" Ri'len grinned and began to run his fingers over the arch of her foot, eyes twinkling with mischievousness.
Sorsha tried to pull her foot away as she laughed, but he had a hold on it so she reached over the bed and tried to tickle him back. She doubted his toned stomach was at all sensitive, but she was going to give it her best shot. "You'd better stop or you'll be sorry!"
"Oh yeah?" Ri'len let his fingers trail up her leg, his grin spreading further across his features. "How so?"
She gasped and jerked out of his grasp when he tried to get the sensitive spot at her knee. Laughing, she lunged at him, pinning him down on the bed. "This is how!" She planted a strong kiss on his lips and made a loud exaggerated smacking sound as she broke it.
"I'm not sorry at all." Ri'len shook his head almost regretfully as his fingers strayed up to her thigh. "Might want to try that again."
Sorsha leaned over, her lips hovering just over his, and searched out for Roseth's mind. The little green hadn't moved an inch, tired after activities all afternoon. She grinned mischievously and let their lips finally meet in what was definitely more than just an innocent kiss.
"Still not sorry." Ri'len whispered when the kiss was finally broken. He eased upward to sit beside Sorsha and pulled her close. "Maybe one more time?"
She eased onto his lap, elated at the closeness of their bodies. It had been so long since he'd held her like that, since they'd kissed like that. She wanted _more_. She kissed him again without thought, kissing her husband was instinctual and natural and wasn't supposed to be planned. She pulled him against her, holding on to him with an intensity she hadn't allowed herself in so long.
Ri'len was surprised at the insistence of Sorsha's reaction, but he wasn't going to complain. He almost clung to her, deepening the kiss, and, a moment later, began to let his fingers roam over back and sides.
Her body felt like fire, like electricity was roving across it, and where Ri'len's fingers danced, that electricity shot out sparks. Sorsha let her hand slide down and pull at Ri'len's shirt, sneaking her hand up inside it so she could feel the warm skin of his chest.
Ri'len hissed through his teeth at her touch. It had been too long and he was reveling in it. Something at the back of his mind was nagging at him, but he batted it away and instead began to tug at her own shirt.
}:What is wrong?:{ Roseth asked as she roused from her nap. She had felt something similar on many occasions from Sorsha, usually when she was with Ri'len, but this time it was different, more intense. Confused, she asked again, this time more insistent, }:What is wrong? Are you hurt?:{
Sorsha jumped away from Ri'len in panic as she heard Roseth's voice, and hit her head on the bottom of the top bunk they were sitting under. "Oh no!"
Roseth felt Sorsha's fear and pain and bugled a challenge. She wasn't sure what was wrong with her lifemate, but _something_ was and she had to protect her! }:Embereth! Someone is hurting Sorsha! Help me!:{
Monilath had awoken a mere moment prior to Roseth, but had remained quiet. His reaction to his lifemate and what he was doing was quite different from Roseth. Instead of fear, he merely felt curiosity. At Roseth's fear, however, he bristled and crooned softly to her, trying to soothe her.
Ri'len stopped immediately when he realized not only was his lifemate awake, but through him he learned that Roseth was as well and she was not taking their feelings and actions well at all. The young man pulled back, face, tightening in concern and guilt.
