Aishara
Aishara

S'ren gradually returned to consciousness to find himself wrapped around a rather agreeably muscled young rider, who by the feeling of pleasant exhaustion and the state of the furs on the bed had been quite an exciting ride. He disentangled himself slightly - as agreeable as the position was, he could feel the warning signs of arm cramps if he kept it up - and smiled at the young lady, rather glad that he recognised her as not being from his wing. Given his promotion hadn't been announced yet, and he was still just about wearing his shoulder knots, that would have been quite a way to find out who your new wingthird was!

Aishara groaned a bit when she came back. "Could you move your legs? Mine are pinned and already numb," she asked bit groggily. She wasn't sure she wanted to know who he was this time. Auymith hadn't chosen a same mate twice yet. It would be nicer to wake up with someone she knew. She peered his face through sleep-heavy lids. Nope, no one she knew. Well, his face was vaguely familiar in a way that she had probably seen him around the Weyr, but it was a nameless face.

"Oh, sorry," apologised S'ren, sensing the girl's awkwardness and moving away completely. He started to look around for those bits of his clothing that were removed rather than just disarranged, and shrug himself back into the items which were still almost attached. Some riders just didn't really want to think about mating flights, let alone stay a while with the other person when they regained their senses, and if this girl was one of them S'ren didn't want to impose himself. He watched her reaction carefully, though - maybe she was just sleepy and he'd misread her. He didn't want to offend her or make her think herself unattractive by hurrying off unnecessarily.

}: You humans always overthink these things, :{ commented Tareth languidly.

"Hi, I'm Aishara," she said and slowly got up to sitting position, rubbing her legs. She pulled the fur to cover her and fought the urge to blush. This situation was much easier to her, when she knew the other one.

"S'ren," offered S'ren, with a friendly smile as he continued to get dressed, picking up an item of her clothing and tossing it lightly over to her. "Sorry if I've already outstayed my welcome, I'll be out of your face soon enough," he teased gently, although he did wonder if there was going to be one of those awkward 'so now let's get to know each other' conversations.

}: You love talking to them really, :{ Tareth reminded him with some amusement.

"I don't know about overstaying," Aishara said bit clumsily. She didn't want to appear rude or that she was throwing him out, yet she did want to retreat to her own weyr. "I'm not really used to this yet. This is about the third time when Ayumith roses."

"Oh, right," replied S'ren, glad that it wasn't all his fault that the girl was nervous. "Well, some people like to stay and chat afterwards, some people like to hurry off and pretend that nothing happened, and some people decide they're up for another go now they can think straight," he explained in a kindly tone. "There's nothing wrong with any of those things, I just assumed you were the type who didn't like to hang around. I'm happy to talk if you want to."

Aishara was relieved that he seemed to understand. "I think it's best we go our separate ways. We don't have to pretend nothing happened though, I never understood that part," Aishara said.

S'ren nodded, and smiled at her in a companionable fashion as he finished getting dressed. "See you around, then," he concluded cheerfully as he headed for the door, with one glance back to check that the girl really was okay with him just heading off - sometimes the inexperienced ones pretended everything was fine, and then looked all rejected when you actually tried to leave.

}: Humans really are complicated, :{ contributed Tareth with a slight air of puzzlement.

Aishara pulled on her clothes and exited the mating cot. She followed S'ren out. "See you, then," she smiled.
