Inevitable Awkwardness

Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr

B'vin rolled over, sighing in contentment. D'cal had come to him after Aosorath had lost a flight, again. He didn't think D'cal always came to him after a flight, but it was often enough that it made B'vin feel special, wanted. It was really the only time B'vin didn't have to hide the reason he rode green, the only time that he felt it was okay to be himself.

"Shards," D'cal whispered to the ceiling, his eyes still closed and his breath a little uneven. "If Aosorath doesn't start winning more Flights I just might as well start moving stuff in."

"Go ahead," B'vin replied as he eyed the bluerider's naked form, "You're over here all the time anyway."

The bluerider laughed a little breathlessly. "Luckily Aosorath is small enough to fit on the ledge with Serenth."

"How are you feeling? Better, or do you want to go again?" B'vin let his finger drag down D'cal's side as he looked at him, letting him know that he was willing for more.

It sent a slight shiver down the bluerider's spine, some remnant of the Flight lust still in his veins. "How is it that you still have energy when I'm feeling so sharding spent?"

"You make me feel good. I _find_ the energy." the greenrider let his hand drop down lower, encouraging D'cal to find the energy as well.

D'cal's body was not ready yet, but it wanted to be. That wandering hand felt very good, and he didn't want it to stop. But there was a whisper in the back of his mind that something... wasn't quite right about this. "I think it's the Flight that takes it out of me maybe..." Closing his eyes, he neither encouraged or discouraged the greenrider.

B'vin let his hand rest on D'cal's thigh as he watched him. "We don't have to right away. We could just talk for awhile and then start back up later."

The bluerider was slightly disappointed that he stopped, but deep down he knew it was for the best. "Yeah, I'm pretty beat. I might... need to sleep for a while."

"Okay." He replied, disappointed that D'cal hadn't wanted more. He never showed any interest after he'd rested. "You know, you don't have to wait for a flight to stop by for this. You know I don't mind."

Shards. The inevitable awkwardness had finally come. "I... I don't know, B'vin. Flights are one thing..."

"It's the _same_ thing." B'vin didn't understand D'cal's hesitance.

"Well, for _you_ it's the same thing. For me, it's a little different. I'm the one feeling all the Flight lust." And for some reason, D'cal had yet to bring himself to just have a casual encounter with a man. It just wasn't what he wanted any old time. His encounters with men tended to extremes, stemming from Flight lust, hurt, or anger.

B'vin frowned. Was D'cal saying he was _only_ with B'vin because of flight lust? If so, he was just as bad as all those brown riders that won Serenth's flights. B'vin started to feel that oh so familiar panicked gnawing at his stomach and tried to push it away. This was D'cal, not some random flight encounter. He wouldn't be here unless he _wanted_ to be with him... right? "Whatever, it's not a big deal. I'm tired too, let's rest for a bit and then go swimming. I haven't done my therapy for the day yet."

"Yeah, that sounds good," D'cal agreed, settling back into the pillows, tentatively reaching an arm around his friend. He might not want to make love to B'vin, but he had always found comfort in their closeness after a Flight.

The greenrider tried to settle down as he closed his eyes. Usually D'cal holding him would relax him and fill him with a sense of normalcy. Now it felt forced and foreign. B'vin had the instinctual urge to shrug off the arm but he resisted. It must be all in his mind, surely D'cal wasn't using him. He _wanted_ to be with B'vin, he was sure of it... mostly.
