}: Chaneth! :{ Blue Tealth mentally shouted to the Werylingmaster Second's dragon as he got up from his couch and ran out of the barracks hissing. }: My rider is hurt! He is in _pain_! Help him! :{

}:L'pin, Tealth tells me that his rider is in pain.{: Chaneth relayed.

**Ask him where he is.** L'pin thought as he jumped out of his chair, banging his knee against the desk, and starting out the door towards the barracks. He couldn't be too far away from there.

}Where exactly is your rider?:{ Chaneth asked Tealth. }:Mine is coming.:{

Tealth wasn't slowing down as he crossed the Weyrbowl. He gave the older blue a mental image of the Harper Hall apprentice barracks and added, }: It's the sad music place, but he's coming now, he says he is not hurt. :{

Chaneth pushed the image to L'pin, who headed that way, ready to meet the weyrling halfway. The large blue winged down into the weyrbowl, near Tealth but not in his way. }:We are here.:{ he said.

A minute later, L'pin arrived, wondering at the conflicting reports. Was F'gol fine, or injured?

F'gol burst out into the Weyrbowl, eyes immediately focusing on the young blue quickly approaching. He threw his arms around his lifemate, trying to calm him at the same time he tried to stamp down on his own overwhelming emotions. "It's okay, It's okay. I'm fine, really."

"What's going on?" L'pin asked, keeping his voice calm and kindly. "Tealth sounded upset."

**Oh shards, I'm in trouble now.** F'gol said, more to himself than to Tealth as he looked up at the Weyrlingmaster Second and wiped at the blood dripping out of his nose.

}: You were hurt, you needed help. I was coming to help too. :{ Tealth, explained, not sorry at all.

"I'm sorry sir." the weyrling started, sure punishment was coming, "I went back to the Hall to collect my stuff from the barracks. One of the apprentices didn't like that I'd Impressed and popped me."

L'pin nodded. "There can often be jealousy issues," he stated. "Do you think you need a Healer?"

}: I will defend you! I will stop anyone from hurting you! :{ Tealth hissed, wanting to continue towards the Hall, his eyes swirling orangeish red.

"Tealth, no, I'm okay, I'm here." F'gol forgot to speak silently in his rush to hold his lifemate in place. "I'm not going back there, so he can't hurt me. I took care of him myself, he got popped too so now we're even, he won't come looking for me. I'm safe."

After a few moments, Tealth finally started to settle down, Chaneth reaffirming that F'gol was safe. F'gol looked up at L'pin then to answer his question. "I'll be fine sir. My nose isn't broken I don't think. I've had worse before. I think it'd be better if I just stay with Tealth for awhile though."

"I think so. He needs to understand that you're fine." L'pin hated to lecture F'gol over a fight he didn't start, but knew he needed to. "You can't get into fights anymore, though. Dragonriders are prohibited from it. If you had been knocked unconscious it could have had serious repercussions."

F'gol had reached into his satchel still slung over his shoulders and pressed one of his socks up against his nose to try and stop the bleeding. "What kind of repercussions? I didn't ask him to punch me. I didn't provoke him or anything. I had to fight back though, I've been in enough fights to know that's how you stop a bully. Especially one who is bigger and older than you."

"If you were knocked out, your dragon might panic and go /between/," L'pin explained. "It's happened with fall injuries. Or he can just panic and inadvertently injure himself or someone trying to restrain him. He might also hurt your attacker if he could get at him."

The weyrling was shocked. He knew the bond that connected Tealth and him made them share emotions, that's why he'd recognized Tealth's cry as a reaction to his own pain. He hadn't realized that it might lead his little blue to go /between/.

His voice softened. "I know you didn't ask to be hit, but now everything affect you and Tealth both. Your pain is shared. I know that running away can seem a cowardly option, but is fighting back- even in self-defense- worth possibly losing your dragon?" He knew it wasn't. "I know your former classmates don't realize that, but here at the Weyr we understand more. You're not likely to be bullied again."

"I... I'm sorry. I didn't realize what might happen." F'gol stammered. "What do I do though if something like that happens again? I don't think Larathey would have stopped if I'd asked him nicely." Now that he thought of the harper, he was furious. If he'd landed a solid punch and F'gol'd been knocked out, he might have lost Tealth!

"I know you didn't realize. Nor did that foolish boy, and we will talk with the Hallmaster about it. It's important they realize what happens, as well. As for what you should do, having Tealth call for help is important. Attempt to run away and escape the room if possible. If not, we do teach self-defense classes. We encourage weyrlings not to fight if at all possible, but as you discovered, sometimes it is necessary."

He didn't like the idea of running and hiding like a little child. Still... he supposed he would if he had to, if only for Tealth's safety. "Won't it scare Tealth if I get hit during classes?"

}: I am not scared of anything! I was coming to save you from that mean boy. :{ Tealth replied, indignant.

"We generally teach them when the dragonets are older, and we prepare them by telling them what's going on. He may even be curious about the class. Different dragons react differently."

F'gol had to grin at his lifemate's attitude. It made him feel a little bit better about the danger he had been in. "Tealth says he wasn't scared. I think he wanted to fight too."

"It's good that he isn't afraid. It could have gone worse."

"Sir, if it's okay, I think I need to go get cleaned up now." He didn't _think_ he was in trouble, but he wasn't sure and the sooner he could get out of the Weyrlingmaster Second's sight the less likely he'd be to remember to punish him.

"That's fine. Take care of yourself and Tealth. I'll go to the Hallmaster."
