"Memreth is going to be huge." The voice commented as the girl approached the brownrider. The candidate flashed him a smile as one hand lifted to try and brush away errant strands of hair that refused to stay put. She tucked them behind her ear, but they simply slipped out, falling into her face once more. "I swear if he keeps going at this rate, he's going to be as big as a bronze. What _are_ you feeding him?"

"Same thing everyone is feeding their dragons. I think he may just be one of the biggest browns." He smiled as he looked at his brown with pride.

"I would say so." The brown was indeed large, but not fat by any stretch of the imagination. No, he was more lithe than one might expect a big brown to be. "Are you sure you're not sneaking him something a little extra?" She teased.

"Hmmm I don't think so. But, he does eat a lot." He smiled largely at her. His usual quietness seemed to evaporate when he was talking about his handsome brown. Suddenly two more bodies flew in and joined them. His little gold flit landed on his shoulder. Treasure preened as she looked at Mel. His little blue landed on Memreth humming.

"I think all dragons eat a lot when they're growing." Of course, they ate a lot when they were fully grown, just not as often. "When are you supposed to work on flying?"

"we have been working on going /between/." He said with a smile. "He loves it."

"Has it been that long already?" Mel's mind reeled at how fast time flew. The hatching had seemed so long ago. "I bet he'll be quite the sight when he's up in the air with a wing. Do you have a particular wing you want to be in?"

"Not really. I'm just glad to finally have him. I'll be happy just to be up there on him." Memreth looked over at them realizing they were talking about him. He stretched his wings to better show off for the girl.

Mel giggled at the brown. "Yes, quite a beauty all right and I think he knows it." She reached out to pat the smooth hide, enjoying the feel of it as she ran her hand along the brown. "That's all right, show off, you're certainly a sight to behold!"

Memreth crooned deeply at the attention. D'wol laughed as he watched his brown enjoy the attention. "He likes it. He has good sleek lines. Even for all his size." He loved to admire his handsome brown. He just hoped that his brown would catch a certain gold when he was old enough. He knew that it would be a long shot, but he hoped.

"Yes, he does." Mel agreed. The she caught sight of D'wol's expression and a slow, knowing smile spread over her face, though she asked, "What are you thinking about?"

D'wol blushed and glanced off toward his loves weyr. "I was thinking of a beautiful gold and her lovely rider. Wondering if Memreth will be big enough to catch her when he is full grown. I'm hoping he will show all those bronzes. You see I love a most beautiful goldrider." He admitted.

"D'wol, I'm well aware of your infatuation." Mel laughed. "You've only talked about her a million times, it's nothing new. Have you heard from her lately?"

He blushed scarlet. "No, we have been trying to keep it to minimum until Mem is old enough to understand. I'm hoping to see her at turns end."

"That doesn't mean you can't write one another." Meledei suggested, eyebrow raised. "Nothing wrong with writing letters."

"Oh, she has been rather busy. She is weyrwoman second." He smiled. Thinking of her always made him smile.

"Yes, I know." But it seemed strange to her that if she were so in love with him, that she would at least write him a letter. There was nothing wrong with a letter. "Well, maybe you should write her." The girl suggested, then shrugged. "I, myself, however, should probably get back. I have some chores to take care of."

D'wol smiled and waved to her as she left. Perhaps he would take her advice and write a letter to Jyra. It couldn't hurt. He glanced at Mem. He had been so worried about doing everything right that he had not thought of mush else. He sighed and turned to his dragon. Yes, he would write her and see what happened.
